Experienced cat owner and sitter that knows how important it is to provide quality care for your fur babies. Peace of mind while you travel is major! Looking to support the Lincoln Park/Lakeview community, and work downtown, so available for multiple zip codes. Born and raised in Central FL, I grew up around a variety of animals and at a young age understood the responsibility, dedication, and fulfillment to owning a pet. They are family after all! Former 4H Club President. My full time job is a sales professional in the city that oversees large scale events and business development. I am very detail oriented and specialize in client services. My job involves the tourism industry, and being a Chicago ambassador, so I always look forward to exploring a new neighborhood. I own two cats, Bailey Marie and Kahlua. Bailey is a fluffy sweet Siberian and Kahlua is a wild and fun tortie. I have experience and patience with anxious/nonsocial cats, cats that may require special care such as diabetes, specific feeding schedules, oral medication, ointments, etc. Your cat’s specific needs and preferences are always taken into consideration!

Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to meeting your cat(s)! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Learn More About Jodie

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Getting to know the unique personality of each induvial cat!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I sure do! Bailey Marie is a Siberian and Kahlua is a Tortie. Bailey is docile, sweet, loyal, and fluffy. She suffers from allergies that often leads to anxiety and is a remission diabetic. I adopted her from a local shelter. Kahlua loves attention, playtime, cuddles, and being involved in everything. I adopted her from a college classmate who was not prepared for the responsibility of being a cat mom. Both Bailey and Kahlua are about 15 year old babies.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Experience and trust is a must.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to schedule an introductory meeting whether in person, FaceTime, Zoom, or call to get to know your cat(s) more. This includes information on their personality, habits, likes/dislikes, care routine, and any specific instructions. These meetings are also useful for home access details. If you prefer communication only through the app text, this works as well!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Attention to detail, communication, and following directions are extremely important and something I pride myself in being great at.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience and understanding.

Jodie was very communicative and sent us pictures everyday. Our babies were happy when we got home which they aren’t always so I can tell they got plenty of love and attention when we were gone. This is my second time booking with Jodie and she has been wonderful both times… definitely our go to cat sitter. Would recommend!

Jodie is the purrrfect cat sitter. She genuinely cares and made me feel comfortable as soon as i first spoke with her. I went away for the weekend and my cat (Suzi) has major separation anxiety and requires meds. Jodie hit it off with Suzi immediately, played with her, and gave me thorough updates during each visit. I cannot recommend Jodie enough and look forward to her watching Suzi again in the future :)

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
