Cat Sitting in Chicago, IL

Meow, Cat Mammas and Cat Daddies!

I’m Ashley, I personally have 5 cats of my own my eldest is 19 years old, then I have a 5 year old, and 3, 3 year olds. Cats are my absolute passion and a extension of who I am as a person; they make me whole at the end of the day!

My experience and background with cats range in a variety of areas. From fostering a total of 16 cats, to cats born naturally with physical disability. To my own personal experiences of helping give oral medication with pill shooters, as well as topical medication to eyes and ears. I’ve been taught how to check the body temperature of your kitty without a thermometer read, using their paws and ears. Another common issue I’ve learned is how to check for dehydration.

At the beginning of a kitties life I have assisted during the birthing process of kittens multiple times. Although the most joyous experience I’ve had has been working with the beloved senior kitties. To provide comfort and care at the tail end of life and their natural aging issues...

To provide comfort and care at the tail end of life and their natural aging issues. Some of those including kidney disease (administering sub q fluids ), and diabetic’s (administering insulin injections every 12 hours).

Watching cat’s behavior and body language I’ve learned is *KEY* to be able to successfully establish a relationship and level of trust with any cat. My personal experience in that area is when is I successfully socialize a couple of kitties that where very non social and hesitant to be prepared for adoption. It took time day in and out to build the relationship and trust yet once it was there and established it was a great success for not only them yet myself as well. With the trust built they allowed me to move forward to care for them not only medically yet with standard needs.

After learning how to socialize cats. I continued learning cat behavior from more of a medical perspective what signs and communication your kitty maybe giving off. From position of their tail and ears to allowing them to check my personal scent coming into their den, (their home, aka your home). It’s important for me to be able to read your kitty to make sure they are giving me the correct signals wether it is related to simply being shy, or stressed. Verses im in pain and I don’t feel good. Therefore with that being said cats that have medical needs I need a UP FRONT notice, before your meet and greet please. Their behavior is 100% key to having a successful reservation with me.

Giving injections and or orally giving medication to your cat that is not immediately friendly upon arrival I may need to request that we do a second meet and greet to be 100% sure that this is a suitable fit for not only me yet for you and your kitty. Any cat that is showing signs of being uncooperative or aggressive unfortunately I will not be able to take on.

This is *KEY* as it will help not only them yet me as well to help them be as comfortable with me as possible to give proper care well you are away from them.

As for feeding and supplements, l have feed every type of food available on today’s market. Dry, Wet, Freeze Dry Raw, and complete natural raw. ( For raw feeders, yes I am available for the 10-12 hour intervals of feeding 2x a day). As for supplements, adding and mixing into foods as instructed, pre & probiotics, fish oils ( Krill, Salmon, etc. ), immune supports, arthritis supports, etc. I’m familiar with any of these and have no issues adding and making sure your kitty gets their daily dose in their feeding routine.

I’ve been with Meowtel as a sitter for 2 year’s now. I always allow my actions to be speak louder then my words. Please check some of my reviews from the past 2 years to show you I am trustworthy, honest, and reliable.

My continuous passion and love for cats shows when I’m with anyone’s cat I treat every kitty as if they where my own. I love giving any kitty the extra time of day for some extra chin scratches, head buds, and cuddles and kisses. So they know they are always appreciated for how well they take care of us and live among us peacefully.

I have a flexible schedule and I am very familiar with downtown Chicago and the surrounding neighborhoods of the city. Commuting to you and your kitty for arranged meet and greets and care should be know problem.

Ashley is an excellent cat sitter. I have a senior boy with diabetes and she took exceptional care of all of his medical needs. Not only that, she pays close attention to detail, sends great updates, leaves my home clean, and makes me feel at ease while traveling away from my beloved cat because I know he is being well taken care of. I highly recommend her!

Great experience. Had 2 separate meet and greets to make sure she was able to give my cat his dialysis medication. This helped me feel confident that he would be taken care of well. She provided photos of each visit. Will hire again!

Ashley was amazing with Mr. Butters! I ended up booking my first overnight visit because he is new to Chicago, but not to me and was staying with my partner. Unfortunately, I had to go out of town for a work trip for a week and luckily she was available during that time. she provided amazing video and updates, including brushing him, before and after pics of food and litter and belly rubs, which I really, really appreciated and it put my mind at ease. he was raised in a hoarding situation and never really bonded with people so it was important that I found somebody who could read his cues and give him affection based on his personality.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
