What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have never not had a cat in my life! I’ve spent many years (over ten) watching my parents cats. I also have spent the last three years I’ve been in Chicago watching friends cats while they are away. I am also part of a cat-sitting group within my apartment building that’s been running for about a year.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I did have a kitty until recently. She was 17 and passed from kidney disease, so I have extensive experience dealing with kitties that need a special diet, or even need subcutaneous fluids administered. Part of the reason I want to be a cat sitter is to fulfill my love of being around cats. My most recent cat, Lily, was my soulmate, but I am looking to get a pair of kitties next year!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice would to schedule a virtual visit first to get a feel for the sitter. Next I would meet them in person and see how they interact with my cat. I’ve hired a handful of times through Meowtel and I can always tell who is going to be a good sitter just from how they initially interact with my cat. I would also look for someone who has genuine love for taking care of cats and isn’t looking to make quick money by just stopping by.

Ally was wonderful! She took care of Willow for 2 days, stopping in for about an hour. She made sure she had food and water refilled, played with her, and gave her lots of love and Willow looked so happy to see her in photos!! I absolutely recommend Ally and will definitely book her again when I go out of town!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
