I'm Anna

Cat Sitting in Chicago, IL

Hi pawrents! I’m Anna, a Logan Square-based sitter with experience in caring for cats at all life stages, including kittens, seniors, and kitties requiring medication management.

I’m a lifelong animal lover, longtime cat owner, and TNR (trap-neuter-return) advocate. I’ve personally owned 6 cats, including one with end-stage kidney disease (CKD) and significant medical needs, so I’m comfortable with managing a wide range of care profiles. I’ve also served as a volunteer foster, rehabbing injured cats and socializing colony kittens and street cats for adoption. From this experience I developed hands-on experience administering subcutaneous injections, pills, liquid and powdered medication, as well as medicated ointments, creams, and foams. I also have experience with diabetic insulin management and have been trained to administer inhalers.

I currently have three cats of my own: Stanley Tucci, Miso, and Domino...

I currently have three cats of my own: Stanley Tucci, Miso, and Domino. I will always give your cats the same level of care, security, attention, and love that I give mine. You can depend on me not to cut corners: I’ll make sure your cats are safe, fed, have fresh clean water, get plenty of playtime and stimulation, and that their litter box stays clean. I will also always flag any changes in your cats behavior or issues with your space.

Although I am based in Logan Square, I am happy to travel to nearby Chicago neighborhoods. If you are a new client requesting medication management or you are located on the North Side or Downtown, please send me a message to discuss your needs prior to booking. I aim to be extremely communicative and transparent about any constraints and am always happy to provide a referral if I’m not the best fit. I am also always happy to answer any general questions you may have about me or my standards of care via a quick consultation call.

I have every confidence I’ll be great pals with your furbabies, and I can’t wait to take care of your kitties :-) If you’d like to setup a meet and greet for peace of mind before your booking, I can accommodate in-person or virtual visits via FaceTime.

Learn More About Anna

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been a volunteer and rescue foster over 10 years, caring for both cats and dogs. I have experience with cats of all temperaments and ages - including colony/feral cats, kittens, cats with medical needs, and geriatric kitties.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have three of my own cats, all of whom I rescued: Stanley Tucci, Miso, and Domino 🐈‍⬛🐈🐱all three are street cat rescues.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Having a sitter who matches your expectations for staying in touch, giving check-in updates, and availability is key. I travel often and know from personal experience that it's extremely disappointing to not have these needs met by your sitter, so you can count of me to be at my visits when I say I will be and for the length of time we’ve agreed. I will always send plenty of pictures and videos as well as verbal updates where requested. I'm always just a text or a phone call away if you're feeling anxious at all.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Following instructions is extremely important to me when accessing someone's home. One of my top priorities is knowing if your cat may get anxious and try to run or hide while you are out of town. This is something I take very seriously. I will also always clarify other instructions e.g.; lights on/off, whether you want any blinds or curtains opened or closed during the day/night, details about alarm system or cameras, and anything else that you want me to keep in mind to keep your precious cargo & your home secure. Some cats get bored when they're home alone so I'll also always check to make sure cabinets are closed, a stove knob hasn't been turned accidentally & that nothing is out of place that they could get into. I can also bring in packages & water plants!

What is your favorite cat toy?

Wand toys and lasers are classics for a reason! I travel with spares, just in case you don’t have these in your home :-)

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Timid and shy kitties shouldn’t be forced to move at human speed. When they're ready, they'll come to you. In the meanwhile, talking quietly out loud to make your presence known, being patient and moving slowly and mindfully is key. If they’re extremely nervous that’s okay too, but knowing their hiding spots to be able to confirm their wellbeing is important.

Anna is the absolute best! From our initial meet and greet I could tell she was going to be a great fit for my boys. She did an excellent job giving my little guy his medication and even my very timid cat seemed to warm up to her! She absolutely went above and beyond, offering to return to make sure my automatic litterbox was functioning properly and she deep cleaned my fountain which was so sweet. Anna thought ahead when there was a storm and left out extra dry food and an extra bowl of water in case the power went out. I seriously cannot say enough good things about her, as a Meowtel sitter myself I would feel comfortable recommending Anna to any of my clients if I wasn’t available! If you want peace of mind and happy kitties, you can count on Anna!

This week

I wanted to leave a review for Anna right after the meet and greet because I instantly felt so comfortable and relieved knowing my cat Morty would be in great care. Anna is so knowledgeable about cat care and was so thoughtful about personalizing how she approached and spent time with Morty. Morty loves being brushed and Anna brushed her every single day. Morty also has feline IBD and Anna was great about not only doing the normal daily cat care but also letting me know if the poops were looking normal!!! Always got lots of great photos and videos from each visit and I think Morty now misses Anna!!!! I highly recommend and will definitely book again in the future.

Anna was excellent! We will definitely be booking her again. One of our cats requires medication 3x a day and Anna was able to successfully get multiple pills down. She was very communicative and flexible with our schedule. If you have a cat with lots of medications on a tight schedule, we highly recommend Anna — no doubt!

Anna did an amazing job looking after my cats Riley and Cece! She was always on time, communicative, and loving to them. Cece takes medication twice a day and Anna was fully prepared to administer them too. Would definitely recommend Anna to anyone in need of a trustworthy sitter!

Simply put, Anna is awesome. She doted on our 19 year-old diabetic, insulin-dependent cat, who quickly fell in love with her. She provided thoughtful, frequent updates (with pictures), which were cherished as we were traveling. We are looking forward to her caring for our sweet boy again, as we know that she will treat him like her own.

Anna is so loving and communicative throughout the visits. She sends me so many photos and lets me know how it’s going. I also have a shy cat who I didn’t expect to warm up to Anna on the first day! It’s so nice to see how much my cats enjoy Anna’s company. I recently joined Meowtel and was nervous to leave my cats with a stranger, but Anna was super reassuring! I only trust Anna whenever I’m away!!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
