I’m also well versed in handling complex dietary needs and medications. As a former vet tech volunteer, I have experience administering medication including pills, eye drops, oral syringes, and even vaccines. Having a kitty of my own with food allergies also has taught me how to efficiently and safely handle specialized diets, raw-based meals, supplements, and watching out like a hawk to make sure no one eats something they shouldn’t! I promise that I will love your furbaby just like I love my own. I’m so excited to meet them, and would love to hear from you!
Please note: I have experience with injections and general medications, but not constant-care medication (ie. diabetic management). For kitties needing these medications, I am happy to learn more about best practices for administering and monitoring! Meow! Hi, I'm Skiffy. I'm a 2-year old kitty who loves attention and food :D I love sitting on my mom's laptop, coming in for snuggles during a cold day, and begging to eat even though she's just fed me. I have a bit of food allergy issues, which my mom has been very diligent in separating my food from my brothers, keeping cross-contamination at bay, and tricking me into eating my medication even when I think it's super yucky! My brother wants to play with the keyboard now, so I'll let him take over. HIHIHI I'm CINNA! I'm a crazy kitten who loves nothing more but to play with my brother and my mom with wand toys and catnip. I started off as a super shy, picky eater, 6 week old foster kitten that would run away from the slightest movement, but with my mom's help I'm SUPER BRAVE!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
In our first few messages, I’d love to hear about you/your kitties needs! Please tell me about their regular schedule, including things like their regular feeding times, if they have specific play times/durations, and whether they’re confident or scaredy cats! Please feel free to even let me know about smaller things, like whether the kitties want me to clean their litter box with every poo, if they must sit before I serve them a meal, or even if you’d like me to take them on walks. Before the sit, I’d also like to do a meet and greet to make sure the kitties have at least met me before, and to go over where items are stored/house rules.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I have a string chewer and an allergic cat, so I am very aware of the potential risks and dangers to kitties when they are alone. I will always keep food (human and kitty) out of reach, keep items (toys, clothing, and shoes) that have strings or small loose items away until I’m actively supervising them, and constantly check on potential fall-hazards like vases, electronics, etc to ensure they are not in a position where they will get knocked down. I am very diligent about keeping the home relatively clean, and I will always help keep your spaces tidy during my sit for the sake of the kitties! For drop-in visits, I implore you to have a security camera active while I’m away so that you can be notified of any emergencies! I am always available by text and will drop by ASAP for urgent matters.

5 STARs plus - meowtel rating 4 is incorrect!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Gabrielle was amazing and so thankful to have had her as our overnight /morning kitty sitter. Communicative, thoughtful trustworthy and sincere! Thurston is a picky kitty and warmed to her quickly and befriended her to his play time, his head bumps and sink water time too. he had long days without anyone and Gabrielle made that human love play time up ten folds in evenings and mornings. I would highly recommend Gabrielle for all your kitty needs. 😺 her attention to detail and asking when unclear was helpful as was her consideration when it was the last day of 7- tossing garbage and straightening up. Thurston would have Gabrielle as an important human to his care again 100%

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Gabrielle is a very sweet and thoughtful cat sitter. She’s communicative, considerate, and caring. She also brings a wealth of experience that gives a lot of piece of mind, including the fact that she is a pre-med student at school, a volunteer vet at my local nonprofit clinic, and a cat owner herself (two adorable kitties). She’s regularly on-time, and she always sends photos and videos! She also has sent things of concerns that she sees if anything pops up, such as when my cat started eating really fast right before I had to leave them with her. She brought over lick mats and they’ve helped a ton. Anyways, overall super thoughtful and would highly recommend her!
