What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I genuinely love spending time with cats and getting to know each one's unique personality. One of my favorite parts of cat sitting is earning a cat's trust, whether they're playful and outgoing or shy and reserved. Every visit is an opportunity to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their family is away. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a timid cat come out for pets or having a playful cat greet me at the door. Knowing I can provide peace of mind for both cats and their owners is what I enjoy most. 🐾
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently share my home with four wonderful cats: Finn (8), Mr. Peters (5), Maisy (4), and Lucy (3). Each has a completely different personality, which has taught me that no two cats are alike. From the independent "lone wolf" to the confident attention seeker, I've learned how to recognize and respect each cat's unique needs, preferences, and communication style. Living with such a diverse feline family has given me valuable experience caring for cats of all temperaments, and I love getting to know what makes each one special. 🐾
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I understand that every cat adjusts differently, especially when their family is away. I approach timid or anxious cats with patience, respect, and a calm demeanor, allowing them to set the pace for our interactions. I never force attention and instead focus on creating a safe, stress-free environment by following their routine and reading their body language. Whether they prefer quiet companionship, gentle play, or simply having someone nearby, I'll provide the care they need while helping them feel comfortable and secure. My goal is to earn their trust, one visit at a time. 🐾

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Rockford cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
