My approach to cat sitting is calm and quiet. I respect boundaries (both the cat's and yours) and always remember I am a guest in the space. I like to meet cats with their guardians for the first visit to establish good... Meow there! My name is Ashley, and I am the devoted guardian of three special-needs cats: asthma, feline hyperesthesia (FHS), and IBD. All three require daily medication, and I am a pro at pilling, administering an inhaler, and rubbing medicine on ears.
My approach to cat sitting is calm and quiet. I respect boundaries (both the cat's and yours) and always remember I am a guest in the space. I like to meet cats with their guardians for the first visit to establish good rapport with both of you. And I strive to make every interaction with your cat a positive one, be it with scritches, treats, catnip, or toys.
I've never been without a cat companion my entire life. Cats are like air to me: vital for survival. So you can count on me to treat your beloved feline friend with the care and respect I would show my own revered clowder.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I have never met a cat I didn't like—even the surly ones! So I enjoy meeting new cats and their owners, getting to know them in order to provide the best care possible while cat sitting. As someone who is a little anxious when it comes to the care of her own cats, I like being able to give owners with similar anxieties peace of mind so they are able to focus on enjoying their time away.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
If you are like me, cats are irreplaceable members of your family. Whenever possible, meet the cat sitter in advance to make sure you (and your cat!) get along well with the person. Check their reviews, if they have any. Ask about their communication during visits, like how often they will text updates and photos. Trust your gut. Whether it's a vacation, work trip, or just being away for a couple of days, hiring the right cat sitter lets you be present in the moment while ensuring your feline family member receives proper care.

My own cats' special needs don't take a holiday, so neither do I. You can count on me to be available 365 days a year.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Having a stranger come into your home has to be stressful for cats—especially if the people they trust are away. I bring a calm, soothing presence to each visit. I keep to main areas as much as possible to respect the cat's personal safe space. I take my time, just sitting quietly and not making eye contact. I really try to let the cat initiate engagement whenever possible, to keep the interaction on their terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
