Iāve cared for many cats over the years (including giving insulin shots to my neighborās two diabetic kitties), and I love learning each catās unique signals. I move slowly, let them approach on their terms, and create an environment where they feel safe, seen, and understood... Iām a gentle, intuitive cat sitter who believes every kitty has their own personality, comfort zone, and rhythm. I specialize in building trust ā especially with shy, sensitive, or anxious cats ā using calm body language, soft communication, and predictable routines.

As a substitute teacher at an elementary school, Iām already vetted, background-checked, and trusted in peopleās homes. Iām very used to showing up reliably, communicating clearly, and caring for beings who cannot tell you directly what they need. Cat sitting blends beautifully with that rhythm.
During each visit, I provide fresh food and water, clean litter, enrichment through play (if theyāre in the mood!), and plenty of companionship. Youāll also receive thoughtful updates and photos, so you can actually relax while youāre away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Being a companion for them so they donāt get too stressed or lonely. It makes my day to ease the anxieties of pets and parents alike.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
The more you share about your catās habits, quirks, or anxieties, the better I can support them. Clear communication helps me to create a calm, predictable, and comfortable experience for them.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I move at the catās pace and let them set the tone for each interaction. With anxious or timid cats, I start with calm, predictable routines, soft body language, and no forced contact. I sit at their level, give them space to observe me, and let them approach when theyāre ready. I use slow blinks, quiet movements, and treat based positive associations to help them feel safe. My focus is always on creating a low stress environment where their comfort and boundaries come first.

Emily was absolutely amazing! I have a hard time leaving my cats and wondering if they are okay, she completely put that feeling aside so I was able to enjoy my trip. Even my shy anti social cat was out and being petted in her photos. She sent me lots of photos and made sure to send one of each cat so I was able to see all of them! I have 5 cats so that's not always an easy task, you can also tell she studied and remembered every cats name. She ensured medication was done which was my biggest worry. Also my litter boxes are immaculate which is super appreciated. I will for sure hire Emily again in the future and recommend her to others looking for a sitter! If you are unsure about a sitter, look no further.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
