When I'm not playing with cats, I'm a nanny... Hi! I'm Jen and I've owned cats all of my life. I recently started fostering cats and love helping find the right family for each cat. I enjoy learning each cat's personality and helping them to live their best lives. I have experience with kittens up through seniors, and have given various medications, from pills to sub-q fluids. I also have experience with other non-feline friends.
When I'm not playing with cats, I'm a nanny. I love taking care of little ones, so caring for kitties is right up my alley!
I'm available early afternoons & evenings during the week, and anytime on weekends to check on your darling fur babies. If you need morning visits during the week, feel free to message me to see if Im able to accommodate the request. Currently, the times I am unavailable include M-F 5:30am-1:30pm, Tuesdays 6-9, and Sundays 9-12. My preferred areas of Indianapolis are the east side, northeast side, northwest side, and midtown, as well as McCordsville, Fortville, & Greenfield. Other areas would be considered.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been pet sitting for about 4 years. I've had two regular cat clients during that time, as well as dogs and lizards.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy meeting other people's cats! I can only have so many cats of my own, so cat sitting, as well as fostering, give me the opportunity to get to know other kitties.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 3 kitties. Dora is 11, Jack & Olivia are 10, both brown tabbies, & are littermates. All three are rescues.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I'm very careful to make sure doors are closed and anything potentially harmful (such as plastic bags) is put away. I also check that each animal is accounted for before leaving. I do these things with my own pets to ensure their safety.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I don't celebrate holidays because I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, so I'm happy to visit your kitties during any holidays.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When I meet a cat who is timid or anxious, I usually sit on the floor nearby (but not too close) and just pretend I'm not interested. That gives the nervous kitty a chance to check me out on his own terms.

Once again, Jen did a great job following our feeding/care instructions and giving us pictures to show our kitties were doing ok while we were gone. It was also encouraging to see that our typically shy cats were warming up to her and not hiding as much. We also appreciate her confirming our reservation on short notice as this was a last minute trip for us.

Having Jen visit with our cat made it so much easier to go on vacation! Jen was calm and caring toward our scaredy cat, so much so that she was able to pet her! A very rare experience with this one. Jen did everything we needed and more. I loved all the questions she asked prior to our trip - things I hadn’t even thought of that a great pet sitter would need to know. She sent loads of pictures and videos and left our house spotless and our cat very happy. I’m now looking forward to our next trip!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Indianapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

This is a 5 star review (says 4 stars due to my error). Jen was purr-fect! She woo'd my cats and somehow managed to win each of them over, including our shy girl and sassy boy who requires daily medication. Jen was easy to work with, took instructions well and I would definitely book her again!

Jennifer was new to me and my daughter just a few weeks ago. She made to time to meet us and our cats before our trip. We showed her how the cats are to be fed and what they like to play with.
