I learned a lot during that time, and have used that knowledge to care for critters ever since. I like to take visits slow. I like to take visits slow. I don’t want to make any pets uncomfortable so I try a slow approach, often hanging out on the floor - their territory. I’m extroverted, so many of my visits include story telling, singing completely off-key, and spilling allllll the tea to someone who won’t tell.

I have experience with normal cat care: brushing hair, food, litter, etc. but I also have experience with providing ear drops, topical medicine on the back, and oral medication.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Honestly - I love the solidarity of me and my new friend. It helps me decompress. I really enjoy helping others, and just providing peace of mind so they have one less thing to worry about.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite was a grumpy old man cat named Gary. He was HUGE and orange. He had the grumpiest face and the sweetest demeanor. The family was only gone for a long weekend and I honestly stayed a little longer because he made me smile so much.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one GIGANTIC kitty right now named Boomer King Terrell. We rescued him as a kitten, but we think he’s a Maine coon. He has this beautiful black, gray color with long hair. We call him the Night King because he leaves at night and we typically don’t see him until the morning. He is so fun and cuddly, and great with my kiddos and dogs!

I have two cats and one of them gets pretty anxious when things change. Jourdan was able to coax her out and play with her and get her to trust Jourdan, which was great to hear. My other cat wasn't ignored either! They both got plenty of play time which was fantastic.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
