As a sitter, I love taking notes, paying attention to the details, and giving your cat the space or play they need to be their happiest, healthiest selves. And speaking of health, I will always mask at meet-and-greets if requested! Also if you or your kiddos just have a cold but you have to meet before you travel, please just let me know and I'll mask up! That way I can aim to be my healthiest self while taking care of your kitties too. I am fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid.
I deeply understand how hard it is to leave your babies at home, especially when they have extra important needs like scheduled feedings and medication. It can feel really scary to trust someone else with them but can be such a huge relief when you know you have a sitter you can count on!
In particular, my sweet cat Turtle was abused before he was rescued, and so he was TERRIFIED of strangers, but as a diabetic he had to have his insulin shots like clockwork. After 8 months of getting to know our own beloved sitter, Turtle no longer tried to hide or flee, but instead became his completely sweet and chatty self when she was around, and even let her pick him up and hold him!
I've had the same kind of experiences with my own skittish kitty clients, and I know how special that trust is and how wonderful it is to give your clients that same peace of mind that my sitter provides for me. I want to pay that forward and provide that exact same level of care for your babies when you're on the road!

Now about my cat experience 🐈⬛
My first cat, Sam, was a Maine Coon who I took in off the streets when he was a few months old and I was 13. He passed in 2020 at the ripe old age of 17 from kidney disease, and he was my first love. We managed his kidney disease for two years before having to let him go, so I am very comfortable with administering both liquid and pill medication.
My sweet Russian Blue, Turtle, passed in April 2024, and was a 16-year-old diabetic with Cushing’s disease, a heart murmur, cardiomyopathy, hypertension (high blood pressure), and a seizure condition. He received insulin injections and pill medications 2x a day for the last couple years of his life, so I’m well-versed in administering insulin and other meds (I have multiple diabetic clients too!). He was also extremely food motivated so I am used to having to feed everyone separately and ensure that nothing edible gets left out! He was the perfect hangry boy.
My 18-year-old tiny calico Emma passed in March 2024 and had colitis, so I’m used to administering medication when needed (either with pill popper or by hand) and in particular cleaning up messes. She actually was returned to the shelter several times due to her bathroom issues but she chose us by jumping into our arms when we visited, and we couldn’t help but fall in love.
In 2024 we also adopted sweet 13-year-old Kathryn Janeway, our intrepid little explorer, and we only got a precious 7 months with her before she passed, but she was worth every minute. As you can see, senior kitties are very close to my heart ❤️
I do also love sitting for younger cats because they can be so playful and have so much energy! They never fail to make me laugh. In 2023 I adopted a dilute tortie cat who had been dumped in my neighborhood and was very pregnant, and she showed up on my porch and was the biggest lovebug. She is now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and a happy, healthy 3-year-old who never stops playing! Her name is Fancy Lady (a niche Supernatural reference for my fellow nerds out there) ❤️
Young or old, cats bring great joy to my life. Since my other cats passed, we have now welcomed additional adoptees of all ages into our home - we now have 10 cats total (yes, I am a 100% certified crazy cat lady 😂).
Our current cats’ names are: Spot, Fairy, Wilbur, Flopsy, Bebe, Evelyn, Paige, Kovu, Steve, and Fancy Lady ❤️

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to meet so many different purrsonalities and create bonds with each and every one of them. It's incredibly special to me when the cats who are more shy or territorial (or who had a difficult life before adoption) come to trust me and even let me love on them! Sometimes this takes a week, a few months, or even longer, but it is SO worth the wait. My second favorite part is sending my clients updates - cat photography is a hobby of mine, and I love catching mlems, biggg stretches, silly antics, and just photographing your babies' beautiful selves! It truly gives me a lot of joy.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
In 600 characters? No. But snippets, yes. 1) Theo absolutely hated me at our meet-and-greet; he was super spicy and let me know exactly what he thought. By the end of our reservation, he was on my lap and chest, purring all the time, and it made my heart swell a la the Grinch when he experiences FEELING. 2) Dean had a terminal diagnosis, and I had the privilege of spending his last week with him. He was incredibly sweet and serene, and he passed a couple of days after my time with him ended, but in that time he permanently stole a little piece of my heart. 3) They're all my favorite.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! My first cat was Sam (named after Samwise Gamgee, the biggest hero in the Lord of the Rings), and I also had two kitties Emma and Turtle who recently passed, as well as our sweet girl Kathryn. We currently have 10 cats (yes, I am a 100% certified crazy cat lady and can show you my credentials anytime 😉). What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
The biggest quality I look for in a sitter is attention to detail! Of course you want your cats to love your sitter, but on a first meet-and-greet, that might not happen if they're shy or just not feeling like coming out (or you're interrupting their midday nap, how rude!) 🤪 At the meet-and-greet, take note of whether your sitter is asking thoughtful questions (maybe questions you hadn't even thought of), and whether they're actively listening as you go through your cat care needs. If your kitty has medication or other very specific needs, your sitter should absolutely be taking notes! Also make sure to keep your kitty’s profile updated as this can be helpful if a sitter can’t get a hold of you while they’re visiting!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
First off, I answer any quick questions you may have over chat! Then once you've placed a reservation, I'll reach out to you to schedule our complimentary meet-and-greet. At the meet-and-greet, I have a standard list of questions I go through with every client (and I obviously give your kitties some pets if they feel like socializing!). I especially always go over house instructions (I test keys/alarms), emergency situations (vet release forms, location of carriers), and your kitties' favorite hiding spots. I take detailed notes and will answer any questions you have for me too!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
At the meet-and-greet, I always ask if any of your kitties are darters or escape artists. I am always careful, but it is helpful to know if you have a specific furbaby who is frequently trying to go on an adventure in the great outdoors! I open entry doors slowly, and always have my bag or hand down by the bottom of the door to block any would-be Houdinis.
Are you usually available during holidays?
This depends! Because some of my kitties have medication needs, I don't travel as often so I may be available. Sometimes my calendar is closed because I have taken the max amount of reservations I can manage, or sometimes it's just to protect a little time off. As always though, feel free to message me! I have taken last-minute reservations or rezzies that were outside of my area before, so I'm always open to making new furry friends when I can.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a lot of experience with this! First off I always like to know their favorite hiding spots just so I can check on them even if they aren't feeling like coming out. It also helps to know if they have favorite treats and how they prefer to be pet (if they're up to being touched at all). Petting a kitty a way they like is important! I also do a mix of speaking to them so they get used to my voice and quiet time so they can feel comfortable in their space and learn that I am safe. I never try to force a kitty to come out or overwhelm them with attention they don't want.

Julie is so patient and understanding cleaning up the mess they leave in their wake when I’m not home, and then she encourages playtime with them while she visits. One of them is stranger shy, so Julie was sure to set food aside for him in a location where he felt safe. Julie is an absolutely phenomenal cat sitter. We have four indoor cats ranging from a 12-year-old grumpy old girl to a stage 5 clinger orange kitten, all with very different personalities, routines, and RFID feeders — and she handles them flawlessly every single visit. She somehow brings out the best in each of them, which is no small feat in a multi-cat household. Her visit updates are fantastic and always include amazing photos (truly some of the best we’ve ever received). She’s attentive, communicative, and proactive — whether that means cleaning up the occasional, or not so occasional vomit, checking in about anything unexpected, or just making sure everyone is doing well. Julie consistently goes above and beyond by bringing in packages we inevitably have delivered while we’re gone and reaching out anytime something doesn’t seem quite right while she’s there. She has been sitting for us for over a year now, and I can honestly say I have zero worries when we’re on vacation or work trips knowing our cats are in her care. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Indianapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Julie was amazing. She took notes at the meet and greet and was already familiar with our Litter Robots, which was so helpful because we’ve only had our for a couple of months. She was focused on getting to know our four kitties from the beginning and she definitely understood all their personality quirks by the end! we got tons of photos and videos on top of her daily written reports, so we had no issues! we have two cats with medical issues and she administered the inhaler and the pills with no problem. It was the best cat sitting experience we have ever had! Highly recommend!

Julie is THE best! I’ve never been able to fully relax going away until I met Julie. I love the updates she sends while she’s with our cats. Her pictures and videos are the cutest!! Julie was FANTASTIC with my cats - many pictures and videos sent each day, verified litter box duty (not necessary, since I trust her, but certainly did her due diligence), played with each cat daily. Biggest thing - I have a very shy cat (Kiki) who basically has been afraid of everyone but me for years. Julie charmed her to the point where she came out from under the table for pets and didn't hide anymore! Amazing. Will use her again as often as we can b/c the cats love her. Would have given her 5 stars, but I couldn't get the app to show stars on my computer!!!

I truly did not expect how above and beyond Julie would go for my two cats! I have one cat who's a former stray, very shy, very jumpy, and within two days Julie was sending me photos and videos of her cuddled up against her. It was so reassuring to have Julie with my cats during our long overseas trip. Purrfect points from my two cats and myself!

Julie was fantastic! She sent very detailed updates with multiple photos and videos each day. I could tell she was really spending quality time with my cat. I needed to ask her to come for an additional day at the last minute, and she bore with my lack of preparation. She is very reliable! My cat takes medicine at the same time every day, and Julie arranged her schedule to come at that same time.

I was insanely impressed by Julie and her ability to cover a complex task like give my girl Missy subcutaneous fluids. she’s super professional and very detailed. you can tell she has a passion for taking care of animals. I am looking forward to going out of town to allow my mental health to flourish since I’ve not been able to secure help for my kidney cat’s special care!

My (now) wife and I took a 7 day trip to Vegas with family to get married and were stressed about leaving Mac and Anderbeau alone for so long….. wow, did Julie make that easier! A great first meet that instantly showed how much she both cares and enjoys helping and connecting. The updates were above and beyond anything we could have expected! Feeding, litter, cleaning, loving, playing and most important CARING. We would gladly trust Julie in our home and with our beloved Mac and Anderbeau anytime. Perfection. And the wedding was great! 😀

Julie is the best!! She is a natural cat charmer, and she made sure my guy, Olaf, had fun and got energy out during her visits. He clearly appreciated it, showing her lots of affection. Julie also gives very thorough updates, and she even let us know that our house was ok after a big storm.

I, and my cat-kids, love Julie. she was very good with them while I was away. I don’t have words to express how good of a job she did. one of my cats doesn’t warm up to many visitors and she was all over Julie. my other was very fond of her. I never had any question of the care she was providing based on the pictures and videos she sent me daily during her visits. I would recommend Julie to anyone who wants their cats taken care of while they were away. I plan to, if she is available, utilize her services when needed in the future.

Julie has become my go-to and almost constant cat-sitter with Digs! and she is amazing. My cat can be moody, friendly and run the full gambit of emotions in one visit, and she lovingly cares for him regardless of his temperament. He can also have health issues and she monitors and reports the signs daily. So detail oriented!!

Julie was great, just like last time! Her photos, videos, and messages are very detailed, and she also includes images of the fresh food, water, and litter. She also includes lots of details about my cat's play, whether she used her scratcher, etc, so I really feel like I'm still there with my kitty! My cat can be finicky about taking all her medicine, and Julie makes sure she gets the whole pill with her treat! I am grateful for Julie's help when I travel :)

Julie is officially an "auntie" to Olaf now after doing such an amazing job watching him! My husband and I were delighted to get new photos and videos from each visit. Although we were gone 10 days, he seemed so happy, affectionate, and playful with her - I'm just glad he was happy to see *us* after all the TLC she gave him! She is so well versed in cat behavior, food and toileting habits, and playtime, and made the extra effort to check in with our family back home when there was a minor toileting concern. Julie was absolutely amazing with my Scottie and Sadie kitties. Scottie was recently diagnosed with diabetes so was reluctant to leave town and Julie made sure I knew she had everything handled with his care and medication. Sadie is a shy kitty and after the first day she was out and about with Julie. it was wonderful to see all the updates twice a day of my babies and also making sure my home was kept nice and clean. thank you Julie !! Julie took absolutely amazing care of our cats for over a week and even jumped in at the last minute to cover an extra day when our plans changed unexpectedly. We have three house cats and take care of a significant number of community cats, so our routine is a bit complex. But Julie mastered it in no time and, rather than rushing through the complexity, she clearly spends time getting to know each cat and bonding with them via pets, treats, and/or play time. Having an amazing caretaker like Julie allows us to enjoy our time away because we know our crew is very well cared for. Plus, her updates and photos are the best😃

If you are reading this and wondering if you can trust or want to use this service/person, Make the reservation!! Julie was extremely detail oriented and made sure my Feisty Little Man was taken care of and loved on while we were away for two weeks. She sent me sooooo many fantastic pictures and videos of him, it made my heart happy seeing them even though we were so far away. My little man is truly a spicy meatball when you first meet him but by the time we were coming back from our trip Julie had won him over and he was laying on her lap purring up a storm!!! She sent me before and after pictures of the cat box cleaning, water fountain refills. and food changes. She will have my business everytime we need someone to watch little man! 😄

Julie Q is the best cat sitter I've ever had! She took lots of notes at the meet and greet, and seemed very enthusiastic about making sure all our needs were met (both the cats and mine!). I got daily updates from her, including pictures and videos, that showed me all the fur babies were doing fine, which did a lot for my peace of mind. Key drop off (on her last day) was perfect can she sent a video showing us where she dropped it off - again, very good for peace of mind. Overall, Julie did a fantastic job and really loved on my cats to make them not feel quite so abandoned, since we were gone a fairly long time. Rating 5/5 stars!

Julie was absolutely fantastic at all times. Leaving town had me so worried after the person who was going to be looking for my kitties was suddenly unable to do it, and Julie made all communications flow so smoothly and she was kind and patient in all the visits. I loved the time of the day I received Julie's updates and beautiful pictures and videos, it made being away so much easier! we have 3 cats and each has different personalities, and Julie took the time to learn about them and communicate with each of them in the best way possible.
