What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I grew up with cats my entire life, and caring for them has always been a therapeutic and joyful part of who I am. Over the years, I've looked after kittens, adults, and seniors, and I truly understand how important routine, patience, and a calm presence are for keeping cats happy and comfortable.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I love most about cat sitting is earning a cat's trust and getting to see their unique personality shine. Every cat is different... some are playful amd chatty, others are quiet observers who just want a calm presence nearby. I truly enjoy moving at their pace, respecting their space, and creating a safe, comfortable environment where they can relax and be themselves. There's nothing better than when a shy kitty starts greeting me at the door or a curious cat invites me into their daily routine. Those little moments of connection mean evrything to me.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to start by having a conversation with the pet parent first to ask questions and schedule a meet and greet so I can get to know the cat and the needs of the pet parent.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Safety is always my top priority. I carefully follow all care instructions, double-check doors and windows before leaving, and make sure collars, harnesses, amd feeding areas are secure. I'm mindful of potential hazards like open bags, small objects, or unsafe plants, and I always keep litter areas clean and sanitary. I pay close attention to each cat's behavior and appetite so I can quickly notice if something seems off. I alao respect your home by keeping it tidy, locking up properly, and maintaining clear communication with regular updatess ao you can feel completely at ease while you're away.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I typically am available during the holidays.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I move at the cat’s pace and always respect their space. With timid or anxious kitties, I use a calm voice, gentle movements, and lots of patience to help them feel safe. I never force interaction. I let them come to me when they’re ready, building trust little by little.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
