I have been a pet sitter off and on since my school days. I love spending time with animals but as a student and then apartment renter, for a long time, I couldn’t keep a pet. It is always so rewarding to visit with client’s pets and it’s truly enriches my days.
I’ve loved animals since I was young and when I adopted my fluffy bestie (Tango) about 7 years ago, I was able to see both sides of pet sitting so clearly. Of course, you want a sitter that will treat your precious fur family like their own when you’re away. No one can replace you, but only the best will do for a stand-in... Hello! I’m Jennifer. I’m a music teacher plus a cat mom and I’m an experienced pet sitter.

I know from my experience with my own cat, they can sometimes be more anxious or apprehensive about their owner’s absence than they let on. A regular visit from a sitter can make all the difference!
My boy Tango has lots of anxiety even on a regular basis and it’s increased when I’m away so I’m sensitive to the same in other cats. I find that I worry so much when I’m gone that I also need a great sitter just for my own peace of mind. I aim to be the kind of sitter I want for my kitty for cats in other households.
My ideal visit with a pet would always include some pets or kind words (whatever the cat likes best), some playtime, a food and water refill, and of course litter scoops. My cat loves doing simple tricks for treats so if you have a kitty who is extra (like mine), I’m all in for that too.
I have lots of love to give and plenty of cuddles to go around. I’d love to meet you and your cat!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been a pet sitter since I was in graduate school over 10 years ago. I adore animals and love spending my time caring for them. I also spent many years as a baby sitter/nanny as well and often cared for dogs, cats, chickens, and children at the same time. It was a handful but so much fun! I loved getting to know all kinds of families (and the farm fresh chicken eggs were amazing!). Now I’m excited to be focusing on kitty care with Meowtel. I look forward to meeting you and your kitty and getting to know your family!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I adore getting to spend time with these incredible furry creatures! Their purrs are healing and I can never get enough cuddles from them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! My cat’s name is Tango and he is a rescue kitty. He’s the first cat I’ve ever adopted and he’s the best!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I love getting to know people and my first task is always to make you feel at ease and learn about you & your family. Pets are always just part of the picture and I love seeing how the kitty fits in with your household. Next, I want to know any specifics about kitty care and your cats loves/hates so I can care for them just like you! I also want to make sure you know I am reachable anytime and will stay in touch often with pictures & video of your precious fur baby.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I’m flexible and like to stay busy so I’m often available at the last minute or over holidays. My family and friends live nearby so I would be glad to squeeze in a kitty visit or two as a part of my holiday celebration. Cats are the best!
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cat Tango only has eyes for catnip filled toys that are the size of a small bird or bug OR the “da bird” feather flyer. However MY favorites are the ones that light up and crawl around on their own. 😹 He doesn’t seem to trust those.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
You should always let the cat come to you and read their signals. Most cats will tell you exactly how they are feeling and how they want to be approached if you just know how to listen. I tend to be slow, cautious, and quiet around these kitties until they come out of their shell a bit more.

Jennifer was FANTASTIC! Our cat can get anxious and scared while we're away, and Jennifer was the best care taker we could have asked for. She did everything we needed and was very timely and thorough on her communication, sharing detailed updates and pictures or videos of our kitty during/after each visit. But the extra care is what made Jennifer the best! Jennifer shared each visit how she interacted and met our cat wherever she was at emotionally. At first Jennifer gave her distance, shared treats and talked to her, then spent time hanging out in the same room when our cat was ready, finally leading up to playing with her and some sweet head scratches and pets. Jennifer was so caring and patient each visit, making more contact and a special effort as our cat was ready. Each visit update made me feel confident that our kitty was comfortable and well cared for while we were away. I would highly recommend Jennifer, and we will be sure to use her services again in the future!!

Jennifer was communicative, kind, and understanding of all of my nervous energy. She made a point to play with both of my boys, but give them their one on one attention as well. Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Mission cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Jennifer was a-meow-zing for my boys! Not only did she keep my 16month old tornado happy and entertained, she charmed my 10 year old grumpy goober to let her pet him! She was great with feedings, checking their kibble and water levels, and even scooped the litter boxes even though we didn’t ask her to. I highly recommend Jennifer for pet sitting, and will definitely be using her services again in the future!

My husband and I had been searching for somewhere to board our cats while we were away, and thankfully, a friend told us about Meowtel. After looking at other profiles, we chose Jennifer, and we are so happy we did. She came by for our meet and greet, and we felt comfortable with her in our home. We have 2 cats, one with a sensitive stomach, and the other is very shy and hides when new people are around. Although Jennifer did not see our shy cat, she still talked to her to let her know she was there to care for her, and that meant a lot. She gave us great photos and descriptions each visit, brought pkgs inside, cats were fed on time, vomit cleaned up as needed, litterbox scooped each visit and filled when needed, vacuumed around litterbox as needed and made sure the water fountain was filled and of course had some playtime. We will definitely be booking with Jennifer again.

This was our 2nd and 3rd time having Jennifer as a cat sitter (two reservations separated by a day). She was patient with our cat when she needed a nap day, and played with her on the days she had more energy, making each visit about whatever our cat needed.
