I have been a cat lover ever since my grandma brought home two little fuzzball Himalayans when I was 4yrs old. I... I can't believe I am just now discovering this opportunity to earn extra monies spending time with cats! I would love so much to help care for your fur babies 😊 I have experience caring for cats and kittens(older than 3 months), I have given oral medication (liquid and solid), and I have a pretty strong stomach when it comes to cleaning up messes.
I have been a cat lover ever since my grandma brought home two little fuzzball Himalayans when I was 4yrs old. I seem to remember claiming one of them as only mine and we named her Nala. She was the absolute sweetest little baby and was my whole world for about 15 years. I was devastated to lose her. I found my floof Kilala about 4 years ago and she makes me feel as if Nala has returned to me. She is just as sweet and cuddly🥹💜 I also have an aspiring fat tabby named Miel. He is my stinky little baby man😊💚

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a little black and white floof named Kilala. I believe she has to be part ragdoll and maybe part munchkin because she is the absolute sweetest, cuddliest little baby💜 I also have an aspiring fat tabby kitten named Miel. He was the only spicy kitten at the adoption event and we originally thought he was a girl lol, but I'm happy we chose him. He's my handsome stinky little gremlin💚
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I make sure all areas where kitties are not meant or allowed to be are closed off (sometimes basements or closets, and definitely the outside if they are strictly indoor kitties). I always fear my own babies will get stuck in a closet or sneak out the front door. I am incredibly cautious about potentially harmful plants or substances being around. Making sure to sweep up any human food messes and small trash, and not use toxic or harsh scents around them. Keeping an eye on them as if you were watching a human child is incredibly important at least while getting to know them and their tendencies. Hopefully we can eventually enjoy a cat nap together😊 For some added piece of mind~ I am often quite good at hearing suspicious or unusual activity even while sleeping lol
What is your favorite cat toy?
A simple wand with a long ribbon of fabric usually does the trick. My cats are obsessed and I get to practice my ribbon dancing 😝
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I find it incredibly important to give them space and not overwhelm them. They need to have some places to hide to help feel safe. It will take some time for them to feel calm and comfortable. If they seem calm, I will approach low and slow with a hand out for them to smell me. I let kitties smell me first with every interaction for however many interactions it takes for them to be comfortable with me 😊 Respecting boundaries is key👍 If they give me signs of not wanting interactions (i.e. ears back, dilated pupils(I sometimes notice a glare or shine in them), growling/hissing, or simply just not attempting to sniff my hand, I back away and give them more time.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
