Cat Sitting in Amherst, MA
My late cat, Finn, was my companion for almost my entire life... Hi, I’m Grace! I’m a college student and cat lover who always loves a chance to meet new kitties. I’ve lived with cats my whole life and have been a consistent cat sitter since middle school. Having worked with cats with all kinds of unique personalities, I’m very familiar with cat body language, and I’m passionate about getting to know them at their own pace.
My late cat, Finn, was my companion for almost my entire life. He was a kitty with opinions and a strong personality (my vet called him “bossy” and “difficult”) but he was hilarious and sweet too. Finn taught me (with teeth and claws) that cuddles and affection is on the cat’s schedule, not the human’s, but that attention and playtime are extremely important! I have so many fond memories of playing with Finn with a feather on a stick, right before we watched tv together cuddled up on the couch. Finn gave me experience with both high-energy kittens and sleepier older cats.
Being both a cat lover and cat parent, I’m a strong believer in quality care. I will take the time to make sure your cat is comfortable, cared for and mentally stimulated while you are away!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
My experience with cat sitting is from looking after the cats of my friends, family and community members. I’ve worked with many different cats with different personalities and needs, and have been cat sitting for about 8 years
What is your favorite cat toy?
I find a feather on a stick or similar toys are almost always fun for most cats. The erratic movement of the feathers mimics the scampering of a super-fun rodent and provides entertainment, exercise, and bonding all at the same time
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It’s normal for a cat to be anxious. When I first meet a shy cat, I let them come to me at their own pace, even if that means giving them space and letting them hide the first few times. Once they know I’m not so scary, I find slow movements and staying on the floor (not being too large and threatening) can help them feel more comfortable

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Amherst cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
