I have two cat friends myself, Maple & Leo. Leo requires daily oral medication so I am familiar with administering pills. I’ve provided oral, eye, ear, and topical treatments to both my cats and other animals. I am always striving to learn new techniques and skills to take the best care of your cats!

In the past, I have rehabilitated wildlife, worked at a dog daycare, and cared for the cats and dogs of friends and family. Taking care of animals including my own has always been my favorite way to spend my time, and I’m excited to focus entirely on cat care!

It’s hard to be apart from my own fur babies when I travel, and to be able to provide comfort and company to your cats while you’re away is a privilege and something I deeply appreciate the importance of.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My husband and I adopted two cats, Maple & Leo, during the pandemic in 2020. When I’m home, they love to either be cuddling with me or be in the same room at all times. My favorite things about my cat companions are their unique, routine ways of showing affection and how our bonds grow stronger everyday. We’re obsessed with each other!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

It’s important they seem detail-oriented, organized, and motivated. Additionally, how they interact with your cats at a meet & greet is important to pay attention to. I personally consider answering questions like: Does the potential sitter seem at ease rather than nervous? Does it seem that they have a genuine love for and excitement to connect with your cats? Do they seem to have a good understanding of cat body language and boundaries and how to approach a new cat? Do they seem confident in meeting your cat’s unique needs? I strive to make you feel confident in answering “yes” to these sorts of questions!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I’m cautious when entering and exiting a cat’s home to prevent one from darting out! I also make sure doors are thoroughly closed and locked per owner instructions. Having a list of to-do items and an organized approach to visits eliminates forgetting important tasks, ensuring all cat needs, the usual and the unique, are met. Limiting what I bring into each home to essentials like keys mitigates the risk of unintentionally leaving something behind that could be unsafe for cats. On that same note, it is essential to do a thorough check at the end of a visit to ensure owner requests pertaining to their cat’s security and safety are met and that things are as I found them when I entered the apartment. I’m especially careful with items that are stringy or items like hair ties to eliminate the risk of ingesting inedible objects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
