Hi! I am a Dorchester based pet sitter with 8 years of experience and a lifetime of caring for animals. I consider myself a friend to all big and small, but I have a particular soft spot for cats.

During initial visits I begin by letting your cat decide the pace we go at while taking care of basic needs and building trust. This includes sitting on the floor and letting them sniff me, while offering treats and slow blinks.

Drop in visits can look however you and your kitty need them to! From refreshing water/food and cleaning the litter box, to playing with your kitten to get energy out, or to administering medication to your elderly cat, I am ready to adapt to your needs :)

Learn More About Maddie

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have a young lynx point Siamese named Gremlin. My partner and I rescued her back in January- the shelter labeled her as shy but she has opened up to us immensely. Her favorite pets are belly rubs and she has the softest tummy. We recently discovers she LOVES spring toys and have been spending a lot of time pulling them from under the couch for her. My first pet I had as an adult was an elderly flame point Siamese named Aleister. He was a sweet old man with thyroid issues and it was one of my greatest joys in life to give him a soft place to land to live out his senior years. He was my soul cat and I carry the love we shared with me every day and into every animal interaction.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

As a cat sitter, I thrive off of direction and intention. I want to give your cat the best care possible and wouldn’t want to miss anything - setting up a meet and greet and providing clear instructions on how to best take care of your furry friend is always very helpful and appreciated :)

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Give them their space! Cats are great at teaching people boundaries and patience. Disruption in routine (I.e. a new person) can cause a lot of stress in cats and I aim to approach them as gently as possible. It is my goal to make your cat feel safe, loved, and cared for on their own terms.

This month

Maddie did a great job caring for two very cautious kitties! They were punctual and made an effort to engage with the cats. Although the cats never came out from hiding, they looked progressively more at ease with each photo update, which was honestly more than I was expecting knowing my cats 😂

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Dorchester cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
