As a cat parent myself, I know it can be stressful having to leave your cat while you’re away, which is why I strive to make both you and your cat as comfortable as possible during my time with them... I’m Luke, a cat dad of two and a volunteer at The Cat Connection shelter in Brighton. I’ve always had an innate connection with animals, and I adopted my own bonded pair of cats Lucy and Gru in 2021. I also have several years of experience caring for cats of a variety of ages, personalities and medical needs, from friends, family, clients, and cats living in shelters. For me, caring for cats isn’t just a job, it brings me joy and I feel lucky I get to spend my time doing this!
As a cat parent myself, I know it can be stressful having to leave your cat while you’re away, which is why I strive to make both you and your cat as comfortable as possible during my time with them. I am communicative with owners both before your departure and throughout each stay and make sure to send over daily photos of your kitty. Whether your cat loves play time and needs plenty of attention or prefers to keep to themself, I try my best to make sure all cats feel at ease while I care for them. I find that I’m good at reading cats and respecting their boundaries, which makes a huge difference in ensuring a positive experience with a sitter.
I have experience administering a variety of medications, including capsules/pills, ear and eye ointments, and oral liquid medication.
I currently work part-time, which leaves me with flexible availability throughout most of the day for drop-in visits and plenty of weekend availability. I love to ride my bike, which is how I primarily get around, so I’m open to traveling throughout most of the Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville area. I hope I get the chance to meet your kitty soon!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve had my kitties Lucy and Gru for over 4 years since I adopted them in 2021. They were just 4 months old when I got them, and I got to experience caring for them as high-energy kittens and watching them transition into adulthood. Gru is an orange boy, so I have seen plenty of cat shenanigans! I’ve taken care of numerous cats belonging to family and friends, and I’ve been working with professional cat-sitting clients since 2024. I also became a volunteer at The Cat Connection shelter in Brighton last year, which involves looking after multiple cats during each shift. Nearly every time I go in to volunteer there are new arrivals and I get to meet new cats there all the time, which has allowed me to get more experience with cats of differing ages and medical needs.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats, a bonded pair of siblings named Lucy and Gru. (Yes, like Gru from Despicable Me). Unlike his sister who is gray and white, Gru is an orange guy and definitely acts like it. He’s very silly, and they both brighten up my life so much. I’ve been lucky enough to have them with me since they were 4 month old kittens, and now they will be turning 5 soon!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always come over for a free meet and greet prior to a new booking. I will ask a few questions about your cat and how to best care for them. I like to take notes for myself so nothing important gets forgotten. I always welcome questions from cat parents both before meeting up and during this time to make sure any of your concerns are addressed prior to your departure, so you can enjoy your time away while knowing your cat is in good hands.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am almost always available for holiday bookings unless otherwise indicated! My family is local so it's pretty easy for me to still see them on holidays and also have time for drop in visits.

Lukas did amazing with our two cats while we were on vacation for a little over a week. He sent pics/updates every time he fed them. Mini takes meds with her food and he took care of all of that as well. It was our first trip being away from them for so long. Lukas was very professional and organized so we didn’t worry at all, especially after the meet and greet and all the questions he had for us to make sure everything was clear and would go smoothly. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing our kitties were in good hands!!! Would definitely recommend him to any of our friends who may need a cat sitter in the future.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Dorchester cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Luke is an excellent sitter! Setting up visits is no problem as he's easy to communicate with and attentive to detail. He's always reliable and on time, and patient with my sometimes less-than personable cat. I've never had an issue with him following my directions as instructed, and will continue to hire him as long as he'll come!

We have two cats, Willow and Cleo, that we had to leave at home for an extra long weekend (5 days) and Lukas was there to care for them. Lukas came by daily to feed them and spend time with them and take care of other cat maintenance issues (liter box, water fountain, etc.) and when we returned home all was well and the cats were very happy. One of our cats is even very skittish and Lukas was able to connect with her and keep her happy as well. Lukas was great in all aspects of this. There was great communication before, during, and afterwards. Lukas made sure to come by beforehand to meet the cats and go over where things were. We received updates during our trip on how the cats were doing, and we were easily able to close the loop afterwards. Lukas is very trustworthy with having access to our home as well as taking wonderful care of our cats. We won't hesitate having Lukas care for Willow and Cleo again in the future, and our two cats would certainly be happy to see Lukas again!
