What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been pet sitting since 2022! I have traveled all over the US caring for over 25 pets, about half of which were cats. I am no longer traveling and looking to do more cat sitting close to home.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I grew up with cats and they are my favorite pet! I love being able to care for them and get to know their unique personalities. It always great when you get a friendly cat right from the start but there’s also something really special about earning a cats trust.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I love to meet the new cat parent and new cat(s) ahead of time. A meet and greet allows us to all get to know each other a little better and helps me to get the lay of the land before starting the sit.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I follow all guidelines set out by the pet parent. I make sure I know how to access the home and put eyes on the cat(s) to verify they are okay even if they don’t want to interact.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always follow the cats lead. I know not all cats want to interact with a pet sitter. If they approach me with signals that they want to interact I will gladly engage with them through pets and/or play! If a cat is keeping their distance or showing signs of distress I would not approach them and do my best to be a calming presence as I prepare their food and clean their litter box.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
