We’ll begin with a quick introduction session to learn about your cat’s daily routine, behavior, and individual needs, ensuring a smooth adjustment while you're away.

I’ll keep you updated regularly, so you're always in the loop about your cat’s well-being. After each visit, you’ll receive a brief update and at least one picture. You can trust me to care for your fur babies as if they were my own, offering you peace of mind and making their time without you as stress-free and fun as possible.

Since March 2022, I’ve been volunteering at the Medfield Animal Shelter, where I’ve had the privilege of getting to know a wide range of cats and helping them during their transition to their forever homes. This experience has refined my ability to adapt to each cat’s unique personality and needs, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and engaged. I’ve also fostered several shelter cats and cared for my neighbors' cats, and I’m proud to have been a cat mom.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m dedicated to ensuring your cats are loved, safe, and happy while you’re away.

Learn More About Stacy

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting for over two years. After my own kitty passed, I started volunteering at the shelter and began offering cat sitting services for my neighbors. One of my regulars is Leo and Shea, a wonderful brother-sister pair. Leo, the bigger and bolder of the two, has all the classic "orange cat energy," while Shea is the smaller, more shy sister. She likes to watch me play with Leo from a distance, building up the courage to join in. I also care for Kobrah, a sweet black cat who took a little longer to trust me. Through lots of treats, playtime with toys, and some gentle brushing, he’s become a true fan of his human servant. Each of these cats has a unique personality, and I’ve enjoyed building strong, trusting relationships with them.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is the one that truly engages the cat, and there are a few that consistently stand out across different personalities. Wand toys, especially with a ribbon, get cats moving, pouncing, jumping, and hunting, perfect for interactive play. For those fun bunny kicks, I love the Yeoww! catnip banana. The SmartyKat Hot Pursuit Electronic Concealed Motion Cat Toy has been a hit with every cat I’ve met, sparking pouncing and curiosity. Soft, simple mice are great for tossing and watching them bat around. And of course, boxes, any game that involves a box for hiding and hunting is always a winner with cats.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When working with an anxious or timid cat, I always aim to let them feel in control of the situation. I’ll sit quietly with them and allow them to get used to my presence, chatting gently or singing quietly. I make sure to give them space, offering treats as a way to build trust. If the cat seems open to interaction, I’ll offer my hand slowly, letting them sniff a finger to get familiar with me. Throughout the process, I pay close attention to their body language, especially their ears, tail, and any vocalizations, as these are important signs of how they’re feeling. I always move at their pace, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable at all times.

Stacy was great! She was great with updates throughout her visit, and very easy to communicate with in advance. She followed all our instructions to the letter, including administering a pill to our cat. And most importantly: our cat loves her! He had a great time with her.

Stacy is one of our most wonderful cat volunteers at the Medfield Animal Shelter. She is reliable and always willing to do any extra tasks we need or pick up extra shifts. She is soft-spoken, gentle, and calm, which is exactly what all of the shelter cats need. All of the cats respond well to Stacy and she is great at reading their body language and meeting them where they are at. I would personally use her as a cat sitter!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
