How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Firstly, I am always very cautious entering and exiting your home. Noone is running out on my watch! Once I am in, I will greet the kitties with lots of scratches and pets. Then I like to do a quick sweep of the home, making sure all windows and doors and shut and locked tight, and that there are no dangers like a stove on or a leak. Then when doing feeding and litter scooping, I note how much everyone ate, and what the litter box usage was like. Then make sure the kitties have clean water as well. Next it is fun playtime or snuggle time to make your kitties feel loved! When leaving, I like to have eyes on the kitties, to make sure noone is accidently locked in a closet.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
If a kitty is shy, timid or anxious, it is my top priority to ease their worries. I let the kitty take the lead and don’t force any unwanted interactions. If they prefer to hide, or stay 20 feet from me, I will just speak sweetly and softly to them. I like to ask you if there are any high value treats I can offer from a distance. Maybe your kitty won’t come around to me on the first visit, or even the 5th, but I will not give up treating them with the same love and patience I would any other kitty, and trying to make them feel at ease. <3 I will also make sure all of their behavior is normal and expected from you and that nothing to you is a concern.

Animals don’t love anybody quite like they love Madison. And she loves animals more than anybody I know. It is reflected in her diet (vegan) and her immense love and respect for all living things. Her cat is the happiest, most comfortable and pampered animal that I have ever seen, and she is incredibly knowledgeable about how to keep him happy, healthy, and stimulated. I trust her wholeheartedly with my cat, and my cat loves her!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Sharon cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
