My name is Carolyn, full-time cat parent and part-time volunteer at a local animal shelter. I love caring for cats of all ages and temperaments. One of my favorite parts about volunteering at the animal shelter is building trust with shy cats. It’s a joy to watch them come out of their shells and go to their forever homes!

As your cat-sitter, my priority will always be making sure your cat is safe, comfortable, and fed. I will also monitor your cat’s litterbox habits. I am very organized and communicative, so you can trust that I will always be there on time and share updates (and cute photos of your cat).

I have two cats of my own that I can’t speak about enough, so feel free to gush about your cat and their quirks with me. Thank you so much for considering me as your cat-sitter!

Learn More About Carolyn

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat-sitting for friends and family for almost 5 years and have been a cat care volunteer at the local animal shelter for 2 years.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy sending photos to the owners the most, especially funny ones! I love that all cats have their quirks and being able to make cat owners smile when they’re far away is a great joy.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! Their names are Marceline and Cassius. I adopted them from Quincy Animal Shelter. They’re young and a little wild, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When I work with a new cat parent, I like to start with a quick meet-and-greet (in person or virtual) to learn about your cat’s personality, routine, and any special needs. I’ll ask about feeding schedules, medications, favorite toys, hiding spots, and what helps your cat feel calm and comfortable. Before visits begin, I make sure we’re aligned on expectations, access details, and communication preferences. During care, I follow your cat’s routine closely and send regular updates with photos and notes so you always know how things are going. My goal is to make the experience low-stress for both you and your cat and to treat your home and pet with the same care I’d want for my own.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I’m very patient with timid or anxious cats and always let them set the pace. I start by keeping things quiet and predictable, moving slowly, and respecting their space with no forced interactions. I follow the routines and comfort strategies you share, whether that means sitting nearby, talking softly, using treats, or simply being a calm presence in the room. Over time, many shy cats warm up once they realize I’m safe and consistent, but if they prefer distance, I honor that too. My priority is always your cat’s comfort, not pushing interaction.

Extremely professional and considerate. Carolyn went above and beyond to accommodate last minute changes in my reservation (I had somehow selected the wrong date and visit length, and didn’t notice until the night before). She even contacted customer service on my behalf to ensure that my mistake was corrected and that I didn’t have to pay extra, which was extremely generous of her. Excellent communication before, during, and after the visit. She clearly takes the assignment seriously of taking care of your kitty. I felt completely reassured leaving my cat Khan with her. Highly recommend.

Carolyn is such an amazing cat sitter, I am so grateful to have found her! She did an excellent job taking care of my senior guy Bubbs, who sometimes spits out his medication. She was a pro and had all the tips and tricks so he never missed a dose. Her updates were super helpful and communication was consistent. I genuinely appreciate her and will absolutely book again.

We had an excellent experience with Carolyn! We have very shy cats who rarely let other people pet them and often hide when people visit. They both immediately took to her, letting her play with them and pet them. I could tell by the photos that they were very comfortable with her. She was so professional, punctual, and provided detailed updates and photos. I just cannot recommend her enough! A true cat whisperer!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Quincy cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
