I am passionate about all animals, especially cats. I am detail-oriented, reliable, organized, conscientious, communicative, and very aware of the importance of following directions when it comes to cat sitting. I want what is best for the cat(s) and their people. I feel that feeding cats and cleaning their litter box(es) is just as important as playing with them - unless they don't want to play, of course! Sometimes just spending time near a cat is exactly what they crave for, for their own comfort and security.
Over the years, I have learned a lot about reading cat body language and understand that every cat is different and has different needs, likes, desires, quirks, and dislikes. But this is what we all love about cats: their idiosyncrasies!
My six cats were all very different from each other, which I was fascinated by. I love getting to know cats and learning about their individual preferences. Of course, nothing feels better than that moment when they trust you and show affection. It's magical.
I had a semi-feral cat that took seven months to win over, but it was SO worth it! But I also know that it doesn't necessarily happen with all cats, and that is absolutely fine. It's important that the cat is comfortable in their home, not that I feel loved!
For example, if a cat is showing signs of needing alone time, I quietly sit in the room with them so they know I'm there if they change their mind, but I don't force myself on them. If they hide, I let them hide, as they are saying very clearly that they don't trust me yet. But if they come out to say hello, I take it slowly and follow their lead.
All of this, of course, depends on the cat parent's instructions. If I am told that a specific cat hides, but likes to be played with under the dresser, for example, I have no problem getting on my hands and knees and playing on the floor.
When it comes to meeting new cats, it depends on the parent's instructions and advice, but generally speaking (at the shelter, for example), I watch their body language (especially their tails) carefully for communication, and give one finger for them to smell at their own pace. (For cats, this replicates how they meet other cats, which is nose-to-nose, so it often puts them at ease.)
I do have medication experience both with my own cats, cat sitting, and at the shelter. Specifically ocular, oral, and ear meds. When it comes to medication, I understand the importance of timing (if it needs to be given at a specific time) as well as correct dosage. This is crucial and I take it very seriously!
When I have someone look after my pets, I hope that they will follow the instructions and advice that I provide. I am even stricter as a cat sitter. It is very important to me to follow the advice of the people who know the animals best, and that's their parents.
I live in Quincy Center and service all of Quincy and am open to Weymouth and Braintree as well, depending on distance.
I am happy to follow any sanitary and cleanliness requests made, such as wearing a mask. I am up-to-date on all vaccinations. I appreciate that these are scary times and I'm here to make your life easier, not add to any potential stress.
As for me, my life is really all about animals, family, and friends. I am incredibly loyal and I feel that these are the three most important things in life, for me. I am so fortunate to be able to volunteer (but a lot of it is remote, so I have great flexibility) and I do not take that for granted. I want to be able to help other pet parents to make their lives easier and their cats' lives even better (if that's possible!)
I am relatively flexible, but many Wednesdays are challenging, however there are exceptions (especially mornings and nights), so it's worth asking!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been a volunteer at a local animal shelter for over 11 years. My husband and I have had six cats over 21 years. I've been cat sitting for friends and family since I was a kid, but professionally for over 2 years.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Everything! I love meeting new people and their cats, and especially learning about their cats' quirks. I absolutely love spending time with the cats and I find it so rewarding when they begin to trust me. I even like taking care of all of their needs, including feeding them, cleaning up, taking care of their litter boxes, etc. Whatever they need is just part of making sure that they feel safe and secure.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
There are so many! But possibly the one where the first few times I cat sat, I was lucky if I saw a furry blur run by. But the second time I cat sat for them, the cats must have recognized my smell or something and started to trust me and come out and show themselves. They even got close enough to smell me. It was so incredibly rewarding! By the third visit one of them was eating out of my hand! I was very proud of them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
We have a 7-year-old cat named Noodles. He's a gray short haired neutered male. He has the longest tail we've ever seen! He is a sweetheart and loves to snuggle. He has the quietest, sweetest little meow ever! We also have a 2-year-old cat named Pinto Beans, because she is polydactyl (extra toe beans.) She is a spayed, dilute tortie and beyond sweet! We are incredibly lucky!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Make sure you are comfortable with the cat sitter either based on their personality and/or their experience. They're going to be in your home with your fur babies, and that should bring you comfort while you're away, not added stress. Once you hire someone: Notes notes notes! Leaving us clear instructions is so helpful! Of course we will take notes when we first meet you, but having your written instructions is just an extra layer of communication which is very beneficial!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to let the cat parent take the lead and tell me all about their cat(s)' needs and routines. But I also have some questions that I always ask. I take notes, but I love when the cat owners leave me instructions as well. It just gives me that extra layer of knowing I'm doing things the way that they like them done.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
The most important thing is that I'm careful when opening and closing doors so that they don't get out! I also make sure that I talk to them so they get used to my voice and know that I'm not a threat. If they come towards me, I put out my finger so that they can smell me the way that cats know each other, which is nose to nose. All of this helps them feel more secure. I keep an eye on things around the house so that they stay out of trouble, such as toys that might get ripped apart while they play. I make sure to clean that up so that they don't swallow string by accident, for example.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! Even when I have plans with family, it's not all day so I can usually do at least one or two cat sitting jobs, if not more, depending on the locations. My husband and family are very used to me putting other people's cats first! It's just part of the routine.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I have a few, and it depends on the age and personality of the cat. For example, for kittens any kind of tunnel is fantastic. Ripple rugs are a lot of fun too! Most cats love fishing rod style toys. But I really like toys that have catnip and silvervine in it because most cats really enjoy that!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give them lots of space! I try to stick to the same routine every time I come so that they know what to expect. For example, first I take care of their food and water needs. (And medication, if necessary.) Then I take care of their litter boxes. But I clean up as I go. Lastly, if they're comfortable, I will play with them or brush them or just sit in the same room with them. If they don't want to play or be touched, I absolutely do not force it! Sometimes just sitting quietly in a room is all they need to feel safer about your presence. So I'll do that a few times until they come to me.

She is very warm and knew how important it was that we knew that Khan was being loved while we were away. She was very conscientious of our preferences for things at home, Khan’s routine, and communication etc. She even started carrier training him after I said that it was a goal of ours! and on top of it all, she surprised us when we came home by leaving a display of adorable photos of Khan and cute additional notes from each visit. Debbie took care of our 2 cats with extreme care and attention to detail. This was the first time we needed a cat sitter and even from the meet and greet, Debbie soothed our anxieties and made us feel like we could really enjoy our vacation. The daily photos, check-ins, and kindness were extraordinary and I really could not have asked for a better experience. One of our cats who has previous trauma before adoption even climbed into her lap before the week was over! Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Quincy cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Once again Debbie hit it out of the park. My gal is very old, deaf, has some mobility issues, is on both topical and oral meds, and has a propensity for vomiting. Debbie dealt with it all like a pro and let me know of all incidents, including a house related issue she noticed. Beyond the practical stuff, my favorite thing about Debbie is how much she cares about my cat. At 19 my cat isn't interested in a whole lot other than sleep, snuggles, and brushing. Debbie is happy to oblige which I know make my cat miss me a little less... because she knows she is being well taken care of.

Debbie was truly better than any cat sitter I could’ve asked for! She was warm, friendly, and responsive. My cat can be a bit shy at first with new people, but she immediately warmed up to Debbie. During our meet and greet, Debbie took detailed notes and asked questions so I felt confident she knew everything to be able to take care of my kitty. Debbie went above and beyond, bringing my cat new toys, sending me a bunchhhhh of pictures and detailed updates, and even leaving me the most adorable report cards and printed pictures for when I got home. As a very anxious cat parent, I felt completely comfortable and confident that my baby was well taken care of while I was away. Also, I swear Debbie left my apartment cleaner than I did when I left. Overall, I cannot recommend Debbie enough!!! She surpassed all expectations, and I think she is truly a cat whisperer!

Our cats have been fighting and are currently being separated, adding an extra layer of challenge to looking after them since they are always trying to sneak out. Debbie did an excellent job wrangling them and, even when there was an inevitable escape, she didn't panic and made sure both cats were safe until she could carefully get them back where they needed to be. Even got a small memento for her trouble, but it didn't phase her at all.

Debbie is the phenomenal feline caretaker. She tended to our two adult cats, each with distinct personalities, over several months. She kept us updated with their wellbeing, physical and emotional. Debbie was fantastic as usual. I originally booked an every other day schedule of appointments but had a change at the last minute to every day and she was able to accommodate. I received videos and photos every day with details about everything. She was also kind enough to water my plants which was totally out of scope of cat sitting. She always provides attention and conversation to my chatty kitty :) and I have super detailed notes and photos when I return s well. Five star service!

She went above and beyond caring for our cats, leaving us the sweetest notes about them, sending tons of adorable pictures, and keeping up excellent communication the whole time. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in her hands. Couldn’t ask for better care! She will definitely be our go-to whenever we need someone to look after them again.

Debbie has been an amazing petsitter for our cats and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She was very thorough, asked all the right questions, took the most amazing photos of our cats and very good care of them while we were away - everything that we loved about her and greatly value ! wow. I can’t get enough of Debbie and neither can my cats. especially my Pepe who was absolutely in love with her. Debbie is detail oriented, punctual and most of all super caring. I felt that my cats were in great hands. I booked Debbie for a long and important job — 28 days with two visits per day — and she more than exceeded my expectations. Leaving my cat Luna for that length of time required a lot of trust, and Debbie completely delivered. Quite simply, she is the best cat sitter ever. She is extremely responsive and communicative. During every visit she sent detailed updates about how Luna was doing, along with multiple photos and videos, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. I tend to be very anxious about leaving my cat for extended periods, and Debbie’s communication and care put me at ease like no other sitter I’ve used before. When I got home I found detailed notes she left for each visit - 46 in all! Incredible attention to detail. And Luna was perfectly fine (probably missing her Aunt Debbie). In fact, I felt comfortable enough to extend my trip because I knew Luna was being so well cared for. Debbie has been my primary sitter for the past year, and I keep asking her back because she is so good! My cats are elderly, routine driven, and a tad high maintenance. Debbie is just wonderful with them! They know her now, trust her, and even the shy one no longer hides when she comes to visit. My matriarch kitty sees her come in and demands attention and brushing. They know they are being taken care of and as a kitty momma thats all I want for them! Debbie is excellent with communication, schedule, and specific details about which cat gets which food and which meds. She even brought my mail in! Once again Debbie was fabulous!!! She gives my kitties the best attention and care. Her updates are beyond thorough! She even went above and beyond rearranging our multiple litter boxes to help address the messes outside the box. At least now they use all 3 even if they still aren't quite getting it right. Debbie is an incredibly dependable and reliable cat sitter. She is knowledgeable about the various personalities of cats as well. My male cat is painfully shy, and Debbie was respectful of his needing time to adjust to having someone new inside "his home". Debbie is extremely caring, conscientious, and responsible. My cats need meds 2x a day so she spent a lot of time at my place while I was gone, making sure they ate and got their meds. If you reserve Debbie, you will not be able to ever have another person watch your cat again—-she is literally the most thoughtful and organized cat sitter you will find. I have had a few other experiences due to Debbie being booked up or unavailable and I was sorely disappointed with what I had. Look no further for someone to look after your fur babies. Debbie is absolutely amazing. She came and met my fur babies prior to my trip and was very detailed oriented. She took a genuine interest in both cats and while there were things to be done around the house like litter and water changes, Debbie spent 99% of the time with the kitties. Who could ask for a better caregiver?!! It is abundantly clear she deeply cares for the animals she is taking care of. I wouldn’t want anyone else to take care of my cats in the future. She was extremely communicative and I received updates when I expected them. Debbie was absolutely phenomenal with Tiger! She went above and beyond in her attentiveness towards him and always gave fantastic updates. Debbie is super friendly and genuinely cares about the cats she sees.

Debbie is really a cat whisper in disguise. My male cat is shy, yet has no problem coming out to see Debbie. I know both of my cats 🐈⬛ 🐈 love her and they are more relaxed with her than anyone else who has watched them. Debbie leaves my place better than I do—-litter box always done, updates always delivered, etc… I never worry when I go away out of town ever.

I was very hesitant to have someone come in to watch my two cats as I usually board them, but Debbie was incredibly knowledgeable about cats. She knew how to approach them and gave them space to finally warm up to her. Debbie went way and beyond by cleaning up too. Better than what I do! I will definitely always book her. She's an incredible caretaker for cats.

Debbie is the most fabulous, thoughtful, caring, consistent, and communicative cat sitter a person could ask for. While we were out of town, Debbie came every day to take care the cats. Beyond food, water, and tending to the litter box, she made sure to spend quality time with both of them. One cat is outgoing, the other shy; she knew just the right way to approach each of them, and exhibited a deep knowledge of and intuition for felines from the first time we met her. (Debbie came for a meet-and-greet the same day we booked, as our trip was unexpected). Knowing she was taking care of our cats was a great comfort in a difficult time; and we felt comfortable extending our trip by almost a week because we knew Debbie could be counted on to keep our cats healthy and happy in our absence. She provided daily photos and videos, and was understanding of both our personal situation and our cats’ quirks (they can be a bit wild). If we need to be away again, I am most certainly asking Debbie to care for our cats. I truly cannot recommend Debbie enough. These are the comments from the other humans in our household: “Debbie is quite literally the best.” “Debbie is the best! I love how well she did with both one of the friendliest cats on the planet (Yoda Simone) and a far more shy, reticent feline (Scully). The fact that she got Scully out of her shell speaks volumes to me”

Debbie is the best cat sitter! I was in a bind and forgot last minute to reserve and Debbie was very accommodating for me! She always updates me to let me know how my cats are and includes the cutest pics of them. I love coming back home to find these adorable pictures of my little stinkers! plus they are so comfortable with her and always come out to greet her!

I always look forward to Debbie watching my fur babies since I know they have gotten attached and use to her. I use to board them and they were anxious for days, but now that they have a consistent and reliable cat sitter like Debbie I never have to worry. I would never board my cats again.
