What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I am new to this site, but have been cat sitting for friends and co workers for about 5 years now. I also have grown up with cats my whole life and adopted my own cat about 5 years ago.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one cat named Toby, who is a 5 year old, orange tabby. He basically choose to be adopted by me when I was living abroad, and we moved to Baltimore early July and loving our new home.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My cat is very timid to strangers, so I do everything I can to make shy or anxious cats feel in control and safe. I use calming body language and calmly talking to get them use to my presence. I also found that putting shoes near them to get used to my smell can help. It’s important to let them approach me when they are ready and know they feel I’m control. And of course, treats or their favorite food can help them warm up to me. You know your cats best, so I’m happy to try anything else that would help them feel comfortable.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
