As a cat mom to my sweet baby, Scarlette, I understand the deep anxiety one feels when leaving their precious ones alone for too long. If it weren't for my brother watching her when I went away I don't think I would ever go on vacation! I have been a cat owner for 3 years and look forward to adopting more in the future.
I also understand the frustration of not finding services that cater to cats and their needs when so many resources are available to dogs.
I will take meticulous notes for pet care, will send as many pictures or videos you want recording your fuzzy friend's whereabouts, and will be sure to keep them active and lively.
I am currently unemployed so my availability is wide open. I live in the Mt. Vernon area but I am open to traveling across Baltimore City (as long as it's safe) to provide care.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have one adult cat named Scarlette. She's about 4-5 years old and I adopted her from a local shelter here in Baltimore. She's a pretty white with black-ish/grey patches from her head to her tail. She's quite independent, but loves to follow me around the house. She always scurries to the door when I come home and my favorite moments are when I wake up from a nap and realize that she's been sleeping right beside me. :)

I am! I am in grad school, but I attend school online so I still have flexible control over my schedule.

Shannon did an amazing job caring for our 3 babies! With one sick cat, one special needs cat, and one super shy cat, I was terrified to leave for nearly a week. But she went above and beyond to make we and our kitties felt at ease. She followed all of our instructions perfectly, provided regular updates, and really went the extra mile to connect with our cats and make them as comfortable as possible, even during the few times they didn’t cooperate as well as we hoped. She even brought in our packages and took out our trash for us! Thanks to Shannon I was able to actually relax and enjoy myself while we were away. We couldn’t be more grateful!! 😻

Shannon did a great job with a feral outdoor cat, I call Dragon. I only asked her to feed and leave water, rinse the empty cat food cans and throw in the recycle ♻️ bin, and pick up/dispose of any poop. Dragon was mostly away, maybe because I took his sick buddy, Domino, with me because of the Vet recommendations. She also turned off two lights that she didn’t have to because I forgot to tell her that I always keep them on. I really appreciate her care for home while I was away. She also let me know when she wasn’t feeling well and could not make it on Sunday. I came back that evening. I forgot to cancel and she came out the following day, but I cancelled the last day. If you need to cancel in the app, you can cancel the day before, maybe the day off before the appointment but not so sure about that. if no, then just consider it a tip as I chose to do or contact Meowtel and work with the Cat Carer for any visits that need to be cancelled after the scheduled date/time.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Baltimore cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
