living with my dad now, we have 5 cats... Hi everyone!! I am Mykayla, I am 25 and I have had cats my entire life! Over the span of my life I have had 11 babies, including the 5 I have today. My mom and I left Baltimore in 2016 with our 2 cats Sophie (My Tuxedo baby🥺) and Leah (My mom’s lil Calico baby.) We moved around the state a few times with them and in 2025 I ended up back In Baltimore with my dad while my mom went down to fl. Sophie lived to be 17 but she got so sick, they couldn’t say what it was and she passed away very abruptly after the move back.. it broke me to pieces. Leah was fighting sickness for some time and it was time to let her rest for my mom shortly after as well. Sophie was my BEST friend and we loved each other so much more than words could ever say…
living with my dad now, we have 5 cats. Jerry & Lady are siblings that we got this year. We also have Juan, a little skiddish siamese sweet boy. Nitza is a grey and sort of striped pretty girl. And my super affectionate Calico chunk, Maria!
Since moving back to Baltimore, i’ve realized how many stray ( and unfortunately let out) cats there are here. I’m just about to leave my pizza delivery job, but working there has given me the ability to see and feed so many cats! I keep food in my car and stop to feed them when i can. My favorite parts about the delivery job will definitely be the cats and the kids.
everytime I go to someones house I try to convince them that cats are the greatest to have lol! I even got my co worker at my last job to get a cat! She decided the time was right and immidiately called me. She picked a beautiful black baby boy and I helped her get everything she needed for him. I even helped him get accustomed to her apartment while she went to work.
I don’t think I could live my life without cat energy around me!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Make sure this person has good energy. Cats are always going to tell lol! Have they had cats of their own? Do they have/understand important feeding schedules? If your cat takes medicine, have they ever administered?
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Doors to rooms cats should not be in should be closed! No choking hazards around. So cleaning up after myself and the cats. Frequent litter checks/change. Always look around you when stepping out, cats can be sneaky and quick! Cameras! My mom travels up here and watches her cameras for her cats.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Let them do them in a way! Do not force yourself upon them (or any cat) if they are not the type to come up to you, just be in the same room if you can. Lay on the floor at their level, be calm in your body and how you speak. Let them smell you. Play with toys! They’d mostlikely rather play and get distracted than to just come up to you. Treats if i can and a routine!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
