Cat Sitting in Wyoming, MI

Hello!

My name is Stacy and I’ve been given the nickname “cat whisperer” by family and fellow volunteers. I’ve grown up with cats and adopted my own back in 2018. My passion for animal rescue came from adopting my first cats, Ashli and Millie. Ashli was blind and Millie was her “seeing-eye sister.” Because they were bonded and Ashli had a disability, the likelihood for them to find a home was next to none. I volunteered and fostered with Focus on Ferals from 2018-2025 and joined the Junior Board of Directors for the Humane Society of West Michigan from 2021-2023. These opportunities have taught me SO much; from the basics of cat behavior all the way to administering medications and everything in-between.

My sister and I own our home and raise 6 rescued cats between us:
- Millie (Ashli’s sister) is my brown tabby and is the first to greet visitors at the door...

- Millie (Ashli’s sister) is my brown tabby and is the first to greet visitors at the door. She is the friendliest of our kitties and will make you feel at home!
- Ginger is an orange tabby that we took in from a relative who had passed and has made her home with us! I am her favorite human and she has claimed my bed as her own.
- In 2020 we adopted JoJo, a long-haired tabby, and she is has such a big personality! She loves throwing her mouse toy down the stairs and then bringing her “kill” to me!
- We "foster failed" a young kitty named Pippy. She came to us as a semi-feral kitten but has warmed up to us and is determined to be friends with all of our other kitties!
- We adopted a kitten we named BigFoot because he's a polydactyl (meaning he has extra toes). He has come with a slew of medical conditions like seizures, tummy issues, and asthma but we love him dearly and committed to giving him the best life we can!
- Finally, our newest addition is Prue who is a kitten we foster failed. She’s full of life and learning all the naughty things from her siblings!

I enjoy reading, hammocking, being crafty, and bingeing new shows on the weekends. I love visiting all the amazing boutiques, craft shows, and restaurants that West Michigan has to offer. I also have a 8-5 job that is fully remote so I have some flexibility when it comes to my schedule!

I look forward to meeting you and cat sitting your lovely feline(s) soon!

Learn More About Stacy

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

First, I love being able to meet new kitties! Being able to improve their quality of time while you are away by playing with them, petting them, or simply giving them their favorite treat makes me happy! It's stressful for them enough already so any joy I can give is my goal. But second, I know from personal experience how hard it was to find friends who could visit my cats while I was away. Being able to provide some relief for you by truly caring about your feline is very important to me!

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I come from a small family and half of them live across the country in Colorado so I am normally always available during the holidays. I don't mind stopping in to visit your cat(s) while you are away!

What is your favorite cat toy?

For my cats who like catnip, they love the long fabric toys that have catnip in them. They hug the toy and just rub their faces on them or try and destroy them! For non-catnip toys, I love having a wand with string that has interchangeable attachments so I can play hard with the younger ones but be more gentle for my seniors. The also love a mouse toy, plastic springs, and milk jug rings!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I do my best to keep a very calm energy in the home for timid/anxious kitties. I keep a little distance, talk calmly, and get down to their level. I try using tools like treats or toys to encourage them to get a little closer if I can but also respect the fact that some kitties just don't want the attention! However, I do try and encourage them to come out of their shell for me while I'm there.

Stacy is such an amazing sitter! I have 4 high maintenance cats each with their own medical needs so I left a copious amount of notes. She throughly read through everything and sent me regular updates. My cats can be sensitive and sometimes don't eat when I'm gone and she was very attentive to this! My cats were calm and happy when I arrived. I know they were really well taken care of when I was gone! Stacy also was very communicative about any possible delays with my travel, which I appreciated, as it helped relieve an already stressful situation. I would definitely hire Stacy again, I've never felt so at ease while traveling!

This was our first time hiring a cat sitter and using Meowtel and we had a great experience. Stacy was absolutely wonderful! She was professional, attentive, and an excellent communicator. She handled our cats so well—especially impressive considering one of them can be very difficult. It’s clear she has a lot of experience and truly understands how to work with cats. I felt completely at ease knowing my cats were in her care. Highly recommend and will use Stacy again!

We were away for 10 days and Stacy visited daily and spent great quality time with our cat Weasley. He does not have a buddy so we were concerned that he would get very lonely. Stacy sent pics daily and he warmed up to her right away. We absolutely recommend Stacy to take care of your fur baby! 🐈

Stacy was the absolutely best care taker for my cat. My cat is very shy and she worked her magic and got him to come out to pet and play with him. I absolutely loved having her take care of my cat. I highly recommend requesting her. She is very professional and great at what she does. We appreciate you Stacy! My cat will probably miss you now!

Stacey really took good care of our babies. Our Murray takes seizure medication so that was my biggest concern with going out of the country. He loved Stacey and took his meds everyday with no issues. We were able to really enjoy our vacation!

Stacy is a lifesaver. I have a geriatric cat named Babs who has no health issues. Sure, I could leave Babs alone overnight for a day or two and she would probably be okay. But why do that? Babs doesn't like to be alone for so long. And Stacy is great company for her. Short visits in the morning to put out fresh wet food and be sure the electric blanket is still on. Longer visits in the evening to play with toys. Stacy also isn't just someone making sure my cat has food--she knows Babs. Stacy also has first-hand experience with older cats. So I feel better knowing that if something was wrong with Babs, Stacy would be more likely to recognize it than some random friend or whatever. Stacy makes it possible for me to go out of town and not worry about Babs the whole time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Wyoming cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
