I am very good at paying attention to body language and take getting to know a cat at their pace. It's a special moment when a cat decides to trust you. I am experienced in giving a cat medication in topical, liquid, and pill form.
I am very communicative and like to send detailed updates about how each visit goes so you are up to date... My name is Alia and if I were to describe the love I give to cats, I would describe it as a kind and gentle love. I will take care of your cat in the same way I would take care of my own soul cat, Gizmo. Gizmo is a silly black and white cat. He is really smart- he and I do lots of clicker training, and so far he knows how to sit, lay down, and spin in a circle!

I am very communicative and like to send detailed updates about how each visit goes so you are up to date. And of course lots of cute pictures. During my visits I give lots of love and attention, and like to talk to them about random things. During meet and greets I like to sit on the ground to let the cat approach me. I also like to go over everything in detail so I know exactly what each cat needs.
I love cats and love being a sitter because I get to befriend all kinds of cats. They are so quirky and funny, and it's a joy to give love to such special creatures.
My visits include:
Food, water, and litter refreshes
Medication if needed
Play time if the cat wants to play
Cuddles if the cat wants to cuddle
Detailed messages about how the visit went- I like to confirm that everyone was fed, etc
Cute pictures of your cat- I will send videos if they do something particularly cute

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My soul cat is named Gizmo. He's just about to turn 6. He's a black and white cat who is an absolute sweetheart. It makes my heart melt to be loved by him. I also take care of my dad's cats, Cheddar and Cheeto. They are three, have a lot of spunk, and enjoy all of the mischief they can get up to.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I really like Da Bird wand toys! They are a really long string, which makes playing with more timid cats a possibility because you can keep a further distance from them. I have found that cats really like the feather attachment.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I wait for them to respond to me. A lot of the time I will try not to make a lot of noise around them, and will sit on the floor in the same room as them as I wait for them to get used to me. Going slowly at their pace is key. The goal is to stress them out as little as possible.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Minneapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
