I have often said that I can read a cat's body language far better than I can ever understand a human's, so pet sitting comes naturally to me. If they want treats, or to play, or to have their personal space respected, I am always happy to meet them where they're at.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy meeting new cats and getting to know their unique personalities. I also love providing them comfort and company if their humans are away. Even when doing the dirty work like cleaning the cat box, I know that I am helping them live a happy and healthy life!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am typically still in town during holidays. I know that this is a busy and stressful time of year and would love to help out.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
A particularly timid or anxious cat most likely just needs someone to sit quietly in the room and avoid making sudden movements. Over time, this will usually gain their trust. I have also read aloud to help them get used to my voice. I will also lay out treats to coax them from their hiding places, or try to be in the same room when they eat dinner. Basically, just try to get them to associate me with safety and good things.

Liberty was very understanding when I had to reschedule our 1st meeting on short notice. I really appreciated her flexibility and graciousness. She gave our cat outdoor play time and sent pictures promptly. I returned home to a cat that was like "You're back? I hardly missed you." I will definitely schedule her again.

This is our first time using a service to have someone watch our cats and with one of them needing medication injected at the same time every day we were very nervous. Liberty made us feel so comfortable that by the time we left we both felt much less nervous than before. She was very diligent and set our minds at ease with her experience. She sent us updates throughout the weekend we were gone and took great care of bothof our cats . She is awesome and we can't wait to use her services again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Minneapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Liberty did a great job taking care of my diabetic cat while I was away. She was also able to make friends with my other cat who is very shy. Liberty was prompt and gave an update with each visit so I knew the cats were doing well.

Liberty had taken care of our ‘challenged’ kitty, Betty- both in our home and her home. Betty had to learn to enjoy (tolerate) being held. She reminds me of a child with attachment disorder- we found her abandoned in the woods as tiny kitten. Betty will cuddle with Liberty and even sleep with her! Liberty is the only human she will do this with and that says a lot about how good Liberty is with animals.
