What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have done cat sitting for neighbors and friends for as long as I can remember - probably since age 13, which means I've got 40 years of experience!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Poppy, our cat, is a big orange tabby. She'd been through quite a bit before we got to be her people, so I've been learning about dealing with a more aggressive cat. It's pretty new to me, but she's improved by leaps and bounds in the year she's been with us. Some of it through building trust, and some through finding the right meds with our vet. My family had 2 cats when I was a kid, and as an adult I've had a total of 6 cats. I am pretty sure I'm on my way to being a "cat lady"!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I've had escape artist cats a few times in my life, so when I enter the home, I am careful to keep my body positioned so the cats can't get past me. I lock the door while I'm there, and lock up carefully when I leave, again watching for those escape-motivated cats. If anything seems amiss in the house or with a cat, I'd reach out immediately. Also, when there is snow on the ground, I try to walk around outside for a little while so it looks like someone is home, and of course grab any leaflets or newspapers in the yard or door areas.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, we usually celebrate holidays with extended family on a different day, and the celebrations are local. We rarely travel due to some health issues for family members, so I'm almost always available for holidays.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
