Yes - I have two at home! Archie is 5 years old and Turtle is just about to turn 2 years.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Look for someone reliable, attentive, and patient! Cats come to you, not the other way around. Find someone who has their own cats and understand the extensive care they need - like attention, enrichment & play time! (Not just scooping litter/filling bowls!)
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
It is best to meet the new cat parent in person before officially accepting the reservation. This makes sure both parties are comfortable and on the same page with care needs! Also, making sure I have access to the home and what to do in case an issue arises is always beneficial before the cat parent goes away.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am aware of my surroundings when opening/closing doors. If a door is meant to be closed I will keep it closed - if it should be open, I keep it open to avoid scratching. I also make sure there is nothing dangerous laying around that the cat could get at, such as a small piece of plastic, HAIR TIES😭 or a broken piece of a toy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
