What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I think it is vital that both the pet parent and the pet have as smooth a time away as possible. I enjoy getting to know a cats schedule and personality, watching them slowly come out of their shell as we interact. Equally important, I love to provide the pet parents with fun updates, cute images, and more from their time away!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My clowder includes 3 spoiled babies (and their large dog brother) ((...and their 2 smaller bird siblings....)) Aria is 18 this year and still surprising the vet with every visit. She's got no intention of slowing down and hopes to follow her favorite child to college next fall. Capella, fondly called Ella is the middle child. She enjoys food, sleeping, food, scrounging for food scraps, and purring so violently you worry her internal engine will spring loose. Finally there's the baby of the group. Don't ever call her Caence, it's Cady to you, thank you very much. Her spoiled princess attitude and demanding purrsonality keep me constantly learning her communication style to serve faster. (Lest I risk her wrath!)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Always aim to have a face to face getting between yourself, the sitter, and your pet! You want to be comfortable with the dynamic between the three parties to ensure you can feel comfortable and safe that your pet is well cared for while you are away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

At our first meeting, I like to pay attention to the small ways you interact with your kitty, such as your tone and gestures. I also love to hear you tell me all about the idiosyncrasies your own baby brings to the world! I like to go over all basic scheduling as well as learn and watch, if I can, any routines you have that may help your animal stay more comfortable while you are gone! If there are any special requests, I like to be sure and write them down so I dont miss any important steps! Finally, if your friend feels comfortable enough, a small meet and greet with you, me, kitty, and a nice churu I know.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I insist on being the only person present in your home during pet sessions. I do not being along friends or family. I want to always ensure your animals safety as well as my undivided attention! I am uses to escape artists as well so I am careful to secure doors and watch closely for escape artists during entry and exit.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I have too many animals in my own home to take many vacations! I will happily step in on major holidays to keep your vacation time stress free on the cat front! Time with more cat friends is all the vacation a girl needs!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

While I would love to have contact and make friends with your friend, you ultimately know them best. I myself have a timid cat and she responds best to quiet presence. If I have no specific instructions, then I aim to hang out in the room with your kitty, quietly existing and allowing them to set the pace of any introduction and connection. If kitty is allowed a churu or two, that never hurts either!
