I will respect your and your cat's preferences. I'll approach your furbaby gently and let him or her set the pace - petting when allowed, play time when wanted, quiet time when requested.
When I first meet your kitty, I'll take my time, let him... I've always had cats in my life, and I'm usually servant to several of them at a time. Right now I have six rescue cats in my home. I'm fairly convinced I'm part cat myself.
I will respect your and your cat's preferences. I'll approach your furbaby gently and let him or her set the pace - petting when allowed, play time when wanted, quiet time when requested.
When I first meet your kitty, I'll take my time, let him/her approach me and check me out. I'll offer a finger sniff, the equivalent of cats touching noses. I won't force affection but will joyfully participate when allowed to. I love pussy cat play time. I'll talk with him/her a lot. I "get" cats and love them - they may be nature's perfect animal.
I will send photos/updates during every visit so you can rest easy that your baby is in good hands and being well cared for.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to know new fur babies and helping out cat-loving pet parents. Cats have amazing personalities, and I look forward to getting to know yours.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have six cats - an elderly long-haired lady named Vixen, two very fluffy polydactyl ladies who are probably part Maine Coon named Nephthys and Neferkitty, two short-haired black ninja cats, one with orange eyes, named Bast and Thoth, and a little dude, probably part Munchkin, named Chairman Meow. All are rescue cats.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Bring the potential sitter in to meet the cat - while cats can take a long time to warm up to someone new, you and your cat can get a sense of the sitter and how they'll interact with your kitty.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Meet the parent and the cat at home so everyone has gets a feel for each other while the cat is safe with mommy/daddy. Write down the cat's routine and needs and the parent's expectations and wishes. Make sure I have everything I'll need and where to find it Get emergency protocols and emergency contact information.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I'm usually available for holiday pet sitting.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Whatever your fur baby likes best. Catnip or catnip blend toys are always a good bet. String toys are usually a success, too.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Approach gently. Don't force interaction. Sit on the floor to be on their level. Talk gently to them. Let them set the pace. Start playing with a string toy and let them get interested when they're ready. Bribing with catnip or a cat treat often works.

The cat was SO shy and unwilling to come out of hiding. Tahini spent the time with him in a patient and caring way, he was able to overcome his fears. Such a kind, wonderful cat sitter! Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Missoula cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
