I believe in being an extension of mom and dad. What I mean is that how you care for your cat is how I will care for your cat. If you twirl 3 times before setting down their food dish for meal time, guaranteed I will twirl 3 times before setting down their food dish. I've never been asked to, but I'd happily do it! I want your furry loved one/s to feel comfortable and at ease, and maintaining their normalcy helps to achieve that.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I am a cat person thru and thru. I've had cats for most of my life. But the apartment I am currently living in does not allow for pets. My favorite part about cat sitting is that I'm able to still get my kitty lovings, while also helping families. Being someone you feel comfortable with caring for your fur baby and your home brings me joy.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite car toy is something extremely simple. String! You can add things to it, such as a feather or paper ball. Or you can use it by itself. I've found cats love it. Maybe it reminds them of a rodent's tail? I've found that cats don't need fancy, expensive toys. I've entertained cats with a hair tie twisting in my fingers. But all cats have their own favorite toys. So I want to find out what THEIR favorite toy is. If it's your hair, I'll have to improvise on that one!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I know not all cats are the cuddly, sit on your lap type. I've worked with all different temperaments. With more timid or anxious cats, I find time and no pressure are vital. Being a pet sitter is all about making sure the animals are as comfortable and non stressed as possible. If they don't want to say hello, and would prefer to remain in their safety zone, I give them the space to do so. I never force an animal out of it's safe space (unless there's an emergency!). I speak gently, letting them know I'm there while Mom and/or Dad are away, and that they're safe. Talking to the owners and getting a thorough understanding of their cat's behaviors, likes and dislikes helps

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
