Cat Sitting in Black Mountain, NC
I have 3 cats of my own and work full time as a cat caretaker for rescue cats. I have previously been a consistent cat sitter in the past, but since moving to the Asheville area a few years ago have not had the opportunity... Growing up, both of my parents were extremely active in animal rescue, which led to my gaining lots of knowledge and experience with animals of all sorts. However, once I got my first cat of my own at the age of 6, I’ve been especially obsessed with everything related to cats.
I have 3 cats of my own and work full time as a cat caretaker for rescue cats. I have previously been a consistent cat sitter in the past, but since moving to the Asheville area a few years ago have not had the opportunity.
I am currently a part time student at University of North Carolina Asheville going for my bachelor’s in environmental science. I love the outdoors and animals and plan to work in conservation post graduation.
When cat sitting, I always treat the cat parent and cat how I would want a cat sitter to take care of my kitties. It is most important for me to follow any directions or specifications exactly as given to me. Each owner knows their cat best and I am simply a caretaker while the owner is away. I always make sure to keep the client updated and informed with pictures and updates to assure everyone is happy and healthy.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love cats (obviously) and really enjoy getting to meet new kitties and learn their personalities! Every cat is unique and I love getting to know them and their quirks.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have three cats of my own! My first is Kiwi, a beautiful bi-colored tabby who is currently 5 years old. My second is my handsome black cat, Carrot, who is about to turn 4 years old. My most recent is Corn, an adorable little brown tabby girl who just turned 1 year old.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I work with rescue cats that have often been surrendered or were once feral. They are often very shy and anxious cats at first and I always make sure to give them their space but also do my best to befriend them on their own terms. I typically will sit near the cat and speak softly so they can get used to my voice and scent. After a little while, I usually am able to reach out and let them touch my hand if they feel comfortable.

Holland is absolutely amazing with cats! They are calm, comforting, and all cats flock to them! Holland is very patient with even the shyest of kitties and will have every cat loving them by the end of their stay. They are very experienced with cats of all temperaments and quirks. They would do an amazing job cat sitting. They even have plenty of experience in giving cats oral meds. Working in a cat cafe has given them so much experience with cats and people alike, you will be amazed at how great a cat sitter they are!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Black Mountain cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
