I have enjoyed the company of cats for most of my life. Cats have contributed to my life in countless ways and I hope to give back by helping other families with their furry feline family members. You can often find me at a party looking for the resident cat or dog to cuddle with.

Currently, I am the neighborhood cat guru who has watched countless friends' feline family members, given advice on adopting new kitties and cats, as well as helping to solve some behavioral issues. In addition, I have also fostered several cats for local animal rescue groups and successfully found them all forever homes... I have enjoyed the company of cats for most of my life. While I love the challenges of problem solving a misbehaving Server I need more fur and purrs in my life. I like to stay fairly close to home so I am looking to help folks in Southwest Durham and Chapel Hill.

I’d love to meet you and your pet family! Chatting with you in person about what makes your pets special and unique and giving them a chance to check me out as a new friend is so important to me. I want to make sure you have the chance to clarify care expectations and I have a chance to answer all your questions.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting professionally for over 3 years now. Before that I was always the goto cat person for family and friends. From caring for 10 cats for a weekend to fostering senior cats and onto caring for cats while an owner was going through chemo. I adore cats and have a soft spot for those kitties who have lost a love one.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Being able to makena difference in someone's life. Knowing someone is relaxed on vacation because they know I am looking after their kitty is very satisfying.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I like to make a difference in a cats life. So the shy, scared kitty who comes out of their shell is very meaningful to me.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have 2 cats. Ginger and Tater Tot. Ginger is a 9 year old Ginger girl and is the queen of the house. She tolerates her little brother and her two human kids. She spends most of her days lounging and napping but occasionally houses herself to chase her little bro. Tater tot is a traditional chunky goof. He is all about comfort and fun.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Find someone who you are comfortable with and who aligns with your idea of kitty care. It's all about finding a good companion for your kitty.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to have a meet and greet to not only meet the owner, discuss expectations and meet the kitties.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

After a thorough meeting with the parents, I get to know the kitties. I treat kitties one of my own family. I look for problems and try to head that off. If a big issue comes up I document and reach out to parents.

I am around for most holidays

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I am a firm believer of letting a new cat client come to me. When mom and dad are out of town it can be difficult for some kitties to trust a stranger. After cleaning up liters and refilling food and waters I like to sit and spend time with kitties. If they are not interested at first visit they are usually curious on second or sometime third.

Charles is incredible! He really understands unique cat personalities and gives them each the right kind of attention. He also didn't mind easing our concerns by resetting our kitty cam when we couldn't connect to it. We also love seeing the cute photos he takes each day. If we're going out of town for several days, I always hope that Charles takes our request/reservation!

Charles is the best cat caretaker! He really got to know my cat and what his desires and needs are, and he met every one of them. Charles is very attuned with cats, he "gets" them. He's also super responsive, punctual, and extremely understanding of my away-from-cat stress; he didn't complain about my detailed instructions and followed them exactly! Definitely the best! My cat loves him!

We trust Charles to do the very best for our cats. He of course follows the feeding and care instruction but goes above and beyond to know our cats and play with them. He sends us updates and pictures of each cat and what the cat was up to upon arrival and how they behaved by the end.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
