I'm autistic my joy and special interest is nature and animals. I've worked as vet assistant and have been pet sitting professionally since 2013. Started specifically with a cat hotel and fostering stray cats, rescuing and working along with other rescuers as well as volunteering at massive spay campaigns in the dominican republic.
I have really good memory to remember a lot of details from each cat I take care of, since I've known so many different personalities in cats, that's something that truly makes a difference with cat sitting.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Ive been Professionally cat sitting since 2013. Taking care of up to 30 cats at a time with different types of needs and personalities.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love how I connect with cats. Because im autistic I understand their needs and how overwhelming it can be to be in a new environment.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 3 cats. Angel a white long haired I rescued at the dominican in one of the spay campaigns, she is now 12 years old, she is deaf and very demanding with her needs. I also have 2 black teenagers (voodoo and hex), I rescued them in Fayetteville 3 years ago. They're the joy of my home since angel mostly sleeps all day.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I go with the flow with them. I let them be curious at their own pace. I let them smell me before I go to them, cats are different than dogs, so using treats doesn't always help, they need to feel safe first.

Ylen was absolutely amazing with my cats. She was attentive, responsible, and clearly genuinely cares about animals. She followed feeding instructions perfectly, kept everything clean, and made sure my cats felt comfortable and loved while I was away. I came home to happy, relaxed cats and a tidy space. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
