What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Iāve done cat sitting on the side for over 10 years, mainly caring for cats of friends, neighbors and church family as well as through word of mouth. I never tire of meeting new folks and their cats.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Iāve had a handful of beloved felines over my lifetime and currently have two youngsters that keep me laughing and lint rolling.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Once you find a person you are comfortable with, try to stay consistent in using them because cats are such creatures of habit and will be less stressed once they are familiar with their cat nanny
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I follow my clients specific instructions as well as my own safety checks during the visit. Did Kitty knock over a Plant, eat it and then throw it up on the sofa? Etc
Are you usually available during holidays?
Iām typically available most holidays but may have reduced range of hours.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Any toy that engages them! Old standbyās are laser pointer and wand toys with feathers. My own two kitties have a new favorite toy which is the plastic spring. They love those things! My male cat fetches them over and over as his bedtime ritual and Iāve woken up with numerous little springs in the bed come morning!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Timid or anxious cats respond best if nothing or no one is forced on them, as this often makes it worse. Typically, Iāll move more slowly and quietly in their space. After cleaning the litter box and feeding/watering, Iāll sit down in one spot and read, giving them a chance to observe me and decide if they want to tippy-toe out with the hopes theyāll eventually get comfortable with me. Some kitties are hiders and thatās okay, however, I do make sure I lay eyes on them to make sure they are okay.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
