What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have had cats most of my life. I have been pet sitting for about 15 years. Several people that I sit for have cats. Some are indoors only and some go outside as well.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting other cats and trying to make friends with them. Treats and play help! If they are still shy, that's ok too.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

The cat that I have been pet sitting The longest is a favorite. He's always happy to see me. I have known him since he was a kitten and now he is 13 years old.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 4 cats: Koko, Pixie, Peachy Paws, and Nicholas. They are all rescues and range in age from 18 years to 4 years.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Find someone who will take care of your cat like he or she was their own. Also someone who is willing to do what you want done .

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Come to their house to meet them and their cat(s). Have them show me where things are and what they want me to do. Find out things their cat likes. Meet the cat and let him/her check me out.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

If the cats are indoors only, I watch carefully for them when I enter to make sure they don't scoot out. When leaving, I watch them again. I make sure all doors are locked and alarm is set, if there is one. I bring in the mail. I like to leave at least one light on and change which light once in a while. If the cats go outside during the day, I make sure they are in for the night.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am. I don't travel much. Therefore, I can help out those that do travel by taking care of their pets.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I like things on a string or rope so I can move it around at various speeds. But I don't leave toys like that out unsupervised because I don't want a cat to chew on them and swallow part of a string like item.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I talk to them so they get used to my voice. I don't force them to let me pet them; let them come to me if they want. If they hide from me, I make sure they are eating and using the litter box. Sometimes, if the owners are OK with it, I'll offer some treats.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
