Meow! I’m Ena, a local cat sitter based in Winston-Salem, serving the greater Triad area (Greensboro, High Point, and nearby areas). RECOVER Certified in Animal CPR & First Aid, and have spent 17 years being trained by my very “opinionated” senior cat.

I'm originally from Japan, and I've been a cat mom since high school, when I rescued a tiny FIV black kitten who had absolutely no intention of making my life easy! That was 17 years ago — and now, at 17 years old, she's still very much in charge! Daily meds, antibiotics, eye drops, even nose-suctioning — she's taught me more than any class could... Meow! What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most is building trust with each cat on their own terms! Every cat has a unique personality, and there’s nothing more rewarding than when a shy kitty finally decides you’re worthy of a slow blink or a belly show. I also love giving owners peace of mind while they’re away, knowing their babies are in good hands!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! Etsuko (17, FIV-positive, the boss of the house) and Uni (my chaotic young rescue, named after sea urchin). Caring for a senior cat with real medical needs every day is exactly why I trust myself with your special-needs or senior cat too.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always start with a free meet & greet at your home, if possible. I want to learn your cat’s routine, favorite spots, and personality before you leave, and I always send photo updates after every visit so you never have to wonder how things are going!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Every cat and home in my care is treated as if it were my own. I always double-check that all doors and windows are securely locked before leaving, and I keep detailed records of each cat’s eating, drinking, and litter box habits, flagging anything unusual to the owner right away. I have also trained in Animal CPR & First Aid to be prepared for any emergency.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I let the cat set the pace. No forcing interaction. I move slowly, speak softly, and let them come to me when they’re ready. I believe patience is everything with nervous cats!

Ena is truly one of the best cat sitters we have ever had! We have 2 cats, one who can be a little ornery with new people, and another who often hides from sitters. Ena was able to get our shy little girl to come out of hiding and ask for pets after only her second day! Ena sent very detailed updates and lots of pics/videos of our kitties being loved like their owners. We will definitely be rebooking with Ena and highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
