Cat Sitting in Wake Forest, NC

Hi! I’m your cat’s favorite cat-only sitter.

People have told me that I have a higher-than-average level of cat knowledge. I’m autistic, and cats are actually one of my special interests! This means that I’ve spent a *lot* of time researching all things cat in order to better understand them and learn what it means to truly meet their needs.

As the two most popular American household pets, cats and dogs are often believed to go hand-in-hand, and are assumed to have identical communication patterns and relatively the same care requirements. This couldn’t be further from reality! Cats are their own animal, independent from dogs, with particular communication methods, play styles, behavioral habits, diet requirements, health sensitivities, and more — all of which are unique to their species...

Cats are their own animal, independent from dogs, with particular communication methods, play styles, behavioral habits, diet requirements, health sensitivities, and more — all of which are unique to their species. Not only that, but each cat is special in their own individual way, and it is extremely important to me to spend the time and patience necessary to really get to know each new cat I befriend. This ensures that I’m able to make them as comfortable around me as possible, and provide them with the personalized care that they need to the best of my ability.

I have personally owned and loved 3 cats throughout my life, and have experience in brushing/grooming, administering oral medication (in both pill and liquid form), emergency vet visits, walking on a harness and leash, training simple tricks, and redirecting unwanted behaviors. I also have knowledge of feline CPR, the feline Heimlich, signs of respiratory distress, anxious behavior, and subtle pain indicators such as hiding, inactivity, and the feline grimace scale.

***Please note that I do not offer dog care.***

I hope you’ll consider trusting me with your kitty! I would LOVE to meet them.

And since you’ve read until the end, here is a cat fun fact just for you: did you know that cats evolved to meow specifically for communication with humans? I think that’s pretty cool.

Learn More About Baylee

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two cats who are my whole world. My oldest is Charlie, who is 12 years old and the biggest, sweetest baby you’ll ever meet and considers me his personal forehead-kiss dealer. My other cat is Clementine who is 3, and is the diva to end all divas. She wants what she wants when she wants it, even if it’s just some snuggles. I adore them both.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Absolutely! I do not travel for holidays and therefore am able to be there for your kitty when you do.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Cats’ boundaries are often misunderstood. Unlike dogs, it can sometimes take much longer for cats to trust unfamiliar humans, and they require a higher level of patience. To me, I find it best to just let the cat lead — there is no reason to pressure or force a cat into any interaction, and sometimes all that’s needed to make a cat trust you is to just be a calm, unassuming presence.

It was obvious the moment I returned from my trip that my 13-year-old cat, Riley, had been cared for beautifully. He was so happy to see me, and I could immediately tell that all of my instructions had been followed, from his feeding and treats to his toys and litter box. Baylee also left a lovely card expressing her hope that I had enjoyed my trip, sharing how much she loved spending time with Riley, and thanking me for the opportunity to care for him. I am extremely pleased with the experience and will absolutely continue working with both Meowtel and Baylee in the future. Thank You!

I had a wonderful experience with Baylee and could not be happier with the care provided. From the start, Baylee was professional, communicative, and so caring. She took time to meet my cats and understand their routine, which gave me such peace of mind. What really stood out was the extra attention Baylee gave—spending time playing and keeping company, and even sending regular updates and photos. It made such a difference knowing my cats weren't just being looked after, but cared for. I would absolutely recommend Baylee to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate pet care!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Wake Forest cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
