I enjoy the distinctive personalities of the individual cat. It is wonderful to gain the trust of the most skeptical kitty.
My biggest achievement was to receive the trust of a feral kitty after hurricane Florence and being able to bring her into my home to reside safely for the duration of her life.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I appreciate the trust that a pet owner feels leaving their beloved animals in my care. It is wonderful when the pets accept my presence in their world.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two kitties now. Mimi is a long-haired ragamuffin who was rescued as a kitten in a commercial parking lot. Mimi came into my world when she was a year and a half old. She requires a lot of attention on her terms. She has been in my life since 2021. Lulu came into my life as an 8 week old kitten healing from surgery to repair her hip from an unexpected 3-story fall while in the care of her foster family. The incident was upsetting for her family. Their concern and care helped her heal brilliantly. Lulu came into my home after she healed. Her foster family and I are now friends. Lulu brought love into all of our lives. Both of my kitties were waiting for a particular family to bring them into a safe and loving environment. I feel honored to be their kitty mom.

A.B. was absolutely fantastic with my two cats while I was away for about a week. She is an extremely caring and considerate person, and my cats and I sensed her kindness immediately. A.B. sent updates after each visit (2x/day) and posted pictures of the cats. She was flexible and accommodating when I had to change my return date. I came home to both cats being content and relaxed. Their food and litter areas were sparking clean. I'm very fortunate to have found such a trustworthy and truly compassionate person to care for my beloved kitties. I give A.B. my highest recommendation!

We were very pleased with Ab's care for our cat Billy. She was very thorough with her updates at each visit, to include sending several pictures. Billy has some special needs (including 2x daily eye drops) and Ab was more than capable of taking care of each of them. We felt very at ease knowing that Ab was providing excellent care for Billy. We will definitely use Ab again in the future and highly recommend her for your cat's care! Thanks Ab!

I appreciate Ab's flexibility and extra effort to accommodate me when I needed to leave town on a family emergency. Altho' she had other plans for my dates, we were still able to work together so she could visit my cats. It gave me one less thing to worry about. And, of course, she gave excellent care to my kitties!

AB was so WONDERFUL with all 3 of our cats while were gone!!! She kept us informed/updated daily with messages and pictures of our fur babies while we were away. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend AB to anyone seeking excellent care for a cat sitter!!! We are going to use AB soon again. For it feels so nice to know that our cats got the attention and taken care while on a vacation!! We had no worries at all!!! Thank you AB!!!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Wilmington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
