What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Lifelong animal parent, occasional house sitting throughout college. Started house sitting again during COVID and fell back in love with being 'Auntie Jenna' to all my repeat families.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Snuggles rank at the top definitely. Plus, I really enjoy learning the different ways people love on, spoil and take care of their companions.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My stand out was two cats that lived in a townhouse together but they did not cohabitate. One lived upstairs the other downstairs. They each had different food, medicine routines, litter boxes setups and purrferred toys. Their routine also included opening the blinds in the morning so they could enjoy the outdoor critters.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Expectation management is key, communicating clearly helps both the sitter and the family. And Aways (always) trust your intuition.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My preference is to have a meet and greet in advance. In addition to making sure the four footed members of the family approve, I want to make sure the pet parents are comfortable.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Having all of the routines and information down for the cat, also emergency contacts and vital systems for the house. Even including water shut-offs etc. It's just a safety issue in case there's anything that happens.
Are you usually available during holidays?
All my adult kids are local, which keeps me nearby during the holidays, leaving me available. However, always recommend booking as far in advance as you can.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
At their speed. Seated, non looming posture, let them approach when they have a level of comfort or need. Quite a bit of that is keeping their normal routine.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
