What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Well I've been a cat parent for the last 12 years, and I've been cat sitting for 4 years with meowtel. I'm also trained in feline cpr.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Besides meeting some of the sweetest kitties ever, playtime is my absolute favorite. I love taking silly pictures of your cat engaging in hunting games or rolling around with catnip kickers or just being goofy.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Not to pick favorites because all kitties are pawmazing! Some of my most favorites are the ones I get to bond with your cat thru playtime or snuggles or just hanging out watching the birds.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have 7 kitties! The older brothers are Milan and jellybean, the princess is pixie doo, the king is Ollie bear, the loaf of bread is scooter, the mushy boy is Disco and the newest addition is bodie!! They're the coolest cats and so incredibly spoiled!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Don't be afraid to ask questions, the more details the better. There's no such thing as over preparing your house to make life easier for your sitter and safer for your cats. Never hesitate to reach out to your sitter, we're always available.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to meet clients well before the reservation, I ask for a tour of the home, and always send a recap of our meet after the visit with instructions of what to leave before the reservation starts. Right before the reservation begins I make sure I know what time they're leaving and returning in case of any changes. I always give my contact info in case the app isn't working properly.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I ask every pet parents to install a camera for two reasons. You'll know your house and cat/s are safe when I'm not there and if I can't find your pet you can always access the camera and find them if they're hiding. I always double check all doors and windows after every visit and make sure everything is safe.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, holidays are a busy time for travel so I make sure to have open availability.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I personally love interactive toys, especially if the cat is home alone, it keeps them busy. But if I'm playing with them, feather wands and lasers are a must!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give them time, I never force them to interact with me, I tend to have silly conversations with them, play close by and make sure they get snacks, and food close by so they get use to me. Having patience's is extremely important when dealing with an animal/s who has social anxiety.

This was my second reservation with JESSY. Just as in my previous reservation with her, JESSY was sure to make me aware of the cats and their well-being and whether they were eating or not. Photos were sent to me of their litter boxes and food. she also made me aware that one of the cats was eating, and one of them had vomited. Everything was kept in good standing for my return. She also made note of my sink having been clogged. JESSY has her eyes open for everything, and I will be sure to use her services again in the near future!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Derry cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Jessy was great with our cats. She was great at communicating with us and sent lots of photos while we were away. She treated them as if they were her own cats, which I'm sure they loved, and which also meant that she turned on our lights and radio.
