Veterinary Nurse For High-Needs Cats

I'm Emily

Cat Sitting in Merrimack, NH

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a lifelong cat person with more than 20 years of professional experience in veterinary medicine, including veterinary nursing and animal behavior.

I especially enjoy caring for cats who need a little more expertise, patience, or creativity. I’m experienced with insulin and other injections, subcutaneous fluids, oral and transdermal medications, inhalers, and monitoring changes in appetite, elimination, mobility, behavior, and overall comfort. I’m also comfortable with cats who are fearful, reactive, easily overstimulated, difficult to medicate, recovering from surgery or illness, or simply slow to trust.

My approach is gentle, observant, and low-stress. I follow each cat’s established routines and veterinary instructions, pay close attention to feline body language, and never force interaction. During visits, I provide individualized care, enrichment or quiet companionship based on the cat’s preferences, and detailed updates so their humans can feel confident while away.

Although cats with medical or behavioral needs are a particular specialty of mine, healthy cats are equally welcome! Whether your cat wants active play, a lap to curl up in, or a respectful visitor who understands that hiding under the bed is a perfectly reasonable choice, I’ll meet them where they are.

What sets me apart is the combination of extensive veterinary experience, behavioral knowledge, careful observation, and genuine respect for cats as individuals. My goal is to give your cat skilled, compassionate care - and give you real peace of mind.

Learn More About Emily

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been caring for cats for more than 25 years, and I love giving their families the peace of mind to travel or spend time away from home without worrying. I strive to be the kind of sitter I would trust with my own cats and my own home: warm, thoughtful, reliable, experienced, and resourceful.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two Ragdoll brothers named Roger and Wilco. I have more than four decades of cat ownership and professional pet care experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I begin with a meet-and-greet so I can get to know you and your cat in the comfort of their own home. We’ll review their usual routine, personality, preferences, feeding and litter-box care, medications, medical or behavioral needs, and veterinary and emergency information. If specialized care is needed, I’ll ask you to demonstrate your cat’s established routine so we can ensure a safe, low-stress transition. During each visit, I follow your instructions closely while allowing your cat to set the pace for interaction. I provide attentive care, monitor for changes in health or behavior, and send a detailed update with photos so you can relax knowing your cat and home are being well cared for.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Merrimack cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
