My formerly feral girl took several years but ended up a lap cat.
I have experience with kidney failure cats, diabetics and daily pills as well... I’ve had cats my whole life. As an adult, I’ve had 5, all with varying stages of medical or social issues at some point in their lives.

I currently have one 14yr old kitty named Knox and she runs the house. I’ve been caring for family and friends pets for many years and working on building up a petsitting clientel for about 2.5 years now. Many of my clients are cats and I’ve had great success with shy kitties.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love other peoples pets! I enjoy meeting all the different cats and owners. This is the best job, spending time with animals.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I have a regular Maine Coon I see every 2-3 months. He is enormous and all cuddles. He basically says “hi Jessica, happy to see you, no go sit down so I can snuggle up with you”. He’s the highlight of my days when I see him.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Currently have Knox, she was abandoned by her previous owners and found by a wonderful woman who couldn’t keep her. She came to New Jersey from Tennessee to live with us.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Wand with several long ribbons. It’s gentle and moves well. It won’t startle a shy cat and works very well with multiple cats since there are 6 ribbons. It’s one of my tricks to get cats to interact with me.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Take things at their speed. Sit and talk to them, try playing with a toy that doesn’t cause jump scares. Lots of just coexisting until they trust me.

Jessica was amazing. She had four cats to care for with different personalities. She even made friends with the shy one of the group, which is rare for this cat. As friendly and gentle as she is with animals,, Jessica is also very professional. We conferred on time of day for visits, she spent time with the cats per the booking, and she took excellent care of them. It was so much better being away knowing my cats were able to stay home. Boarding would have been so stressful for them.

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Bayville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

From the first meet & greet with my cats, Jessica was the perfect cat sitter. They came right to her and immediately connected. I trust her to care for them, and she goes the extra mile to grab our mail and any packages. If anything seems amiss, Jessica lets me know and she takes such fun pics of the cats when I’m away!
