What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cat sitting is the deep connection I build with each cat. I love gaining their trust and providing them with comfort and security. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them feel at ease in my care. I also appreciate the flexibility it gives me to travel and experience new places, all while doing something I truly love. Every cat is unique, and I enjoy getting to know their quirks and personalities—it’s always a new adventure!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite cat sitting experiences was when I cared for two Scottish Folds on a yacht. Each of them had their own very unique personality—one was a playful, curious adventurer, while the other was a calm, affectionate cuddle buddy. Watching them interact with each other and with their surroundings was such a joy. It was a long-term stay, and I felt so lucky to be part of their lives in such a special setting. Caring for them was a dream, and it truly highlighted how rewarding and fulfilling cat sitting can be!

Franka was a pure delight - we desperately needed a cat sitter to step in and take care of Quark when we had to go away last minute and Franka stepped in. She was lovely to meet and our cat, Quark, instantly ran to her and started giving her kisses 😄 She spent quality time with Q and played with him during his visits using sound enrichment which I will be doing also going forward! I am relieved to know we can book Franka and have an excellent caregiver for our furbaby 🥰

Franka is an angel! she babysat our kitty for a full week and stayed at our place. She came for a meet and greet the week before and was so kind and knowledgeable which put us at ease before leaving. Not only was it clear that she understands cats and what they do/don’t like, but she gave tons of updates and pics where we could tell our cat was going about her normal day and totally at ease. Thank goodness Franka was there because our apartment had some building issues during her stay, and she was on top of it! She managed to find the super and maintenance team asap (without us since we didn’t have good service), so the issues were handled before we returned. She also left the apartment spotless. Can’t recommend her enough!! she is worth the little bit extra $ to have a true cat lover and trustworthy sitter. 😻😺

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Edgewater cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!

Where do we even begin? Franka has some serious cat skills. We already knew she was incredible, she’s rescued and rehomed more than seven stray cats, feeds local strays, and has glowing reviews from others, but experiencing her care firsthand took things to a whole new level. She doesn’t just feed and scoop, she connects. She spends real time with our cats, playing with them, giving them exercise, attention, and love. One of our cats is a bit of a food bully, so she carefully separates them during meals and even sits with our shy girl for 30 minutes just to make sure she eats in peace. That kind of patience is rare. She sends us daily photos, videos, and updates, so thoughtful and consistent that we genuinely feel spoiled. And the cherry on top? We come home to a house that’s so clean, it puts our professional cleaner to shame. Franka is truly one of a kind. Sweet, reliable, incredibly skilled, and so clearly passionate about what she does.
