What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

8 years professionally! (Aside from fostering and owning cats my whole life, as well) I have dealt with lovable cats, shy cats, anxious cats, and standoffish ones. However, most are so loving once they see they can trust you. They sense a cat person when they meet one!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Becoming friends with new cats!! I love caring for animals, and I love caring for cats. I simply have a bond with them that’s hard to explain!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Not sure if I could pick just one, but I had a very close bond with a black and white guy named Sylvester (naturally!) and he was the sweetest guy that loved drinking from the sink and getting petted. He also had kidney disease, so I made sure to always check his litter box for any changes. He has since passed, and still I miss him years later!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I had two sisters that recently passed, Buffy and Dixie, and they lived to be 18! I’m currently getting ready to adopt two all-black fosters, July and Sparkler 🐈‍⬛ 🐈‍⬛

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Meet & greets are everything! I want you to meet me in person so you can see my warmth for you and your cat.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Spend time just sitting with him or her! Try a bunch of different toys and treats, and see which ones he or she prefers. Talk gently to them. They’ll feel comfortable with you and your love in no time!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Make sure all windows are securely closed, or, if the client wants windows open for nice weather, I make sure the opening is not wide enough for a cat to escape. I’m also extremely careful about opening/closing doors for same reason. I always do a walk-through of the house, to make sure everything looks safe!

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I understand the value in being there for your cats when you want to leave home for a few days. I do charge an extra 5% for major holiday (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, July 4th) visits.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My soon-to-be kitties love the crinkly toys (that’s what I call them at least!) They tend to only carry them in their mouths, as opposed to trying to eat them 😂 and catnip, of course!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Speak very gently and softly to them. (I’m a naturally soft-spoken person.) If they’re under the bed, I’ll get on the floor, peek under the bed, and quietly talk to them. If still anxious or aggressive, I’ll give them space, and do my duties from a distance!

Julieann was spectacular from start to finish and my cat Amèlie clearly loved her. this is the first time I've left my 14y.o. calico with someone who isn't family so I was very anxious. Julieann put me at easy at the meet and greet. she communicated clearly and frequently and sent lots of photos and videos. do not hesitate and hire her immediately

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
