What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’m experienced with a broad range of cats including kittens, seniors, sick cats, and cats with special needs. I’m familiar with administering medications, applying ointments, using asthma inhalers, and accommodating mobility-assisting devices. I’ve been taking care of cats in a formal capacity since 2010, and joined the Meowtel community in late 2024 after relocating to Collingswood.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Building relationships with cats in an incredibly rewarding experience. Gaining a cat’s trust takes time and effort, and each cat requires different kinds of attention. I love bonding with cats of all kinds, and would look forward to taking care of your pets!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I’ll never forget my first time taking care of Athena, one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met! It was an overnight stay and the little furball didn’t want to be alone. She was a nighttime toe nibbler, but once she got it out of her system, she spent the night desperate to be a little spoon until breakfast.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two four-year-old cats! There is Pabu, an alleged Turkish Van mixed up with a hot mess of other stuff, and Momo, a Siamese flame point. Both were adopted from the Stray Cat Alliance back in their hometown of the streets of Los Angeles. The two are extremely bonded, often inseparable, and absolutely lovely.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

It's okay if the first sitter you meet isn't the right fit. Always set up a Meet & Greet prior the dates you're in need of a sitter to allow yourself extra time in the event you need to continue your search. It's crucial that not only do you feel a sense of trust between you and your sitter, but also between your cats and your sitter. Make sure your sitter is aware of your cats' needs and personalities, and that they follow the lead of your cat as to not overstep any boundaries.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always like to start off by arranging a Meet & Greet to learn more about the client, introduce myself to their cats, and to make sure I can provide the care and support that is required. During this time I like to ask some questions about the cats’ personalities, routines, and any special needs the cat might need. I also like to make note of the clients schedules and what their expectations are, as to make sure I provide neither too few or too many updates.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Almost always! I am very fortunate to live in close proximity to the entirety of my family, so unless we’re taking the rare vacation out of town, you can count on me being here.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Definitely those little springs! They’re often big enough as to not get lost under furniture, and bouncy enough to exhaust a cat when he or she enters chaos mode!
