I’m a calm and attentive sitter who loves getting to know every cat’s unique personality, whether it’s a lap cat, shy under-the-bed observer, or a spicy diva who needs patience and space. I just love cats and am excited to meet yours.
I take routines seriously (meds, food, litter, etc), send lots of photo updates, and will always try to keep your cats environment calm and familiar. Whether your cat wants playtime, companionship, or respectful distance, I will make sure to meet them where they’re at.
My goal is to make your cat feel safe and for you to feel totally at ease while you’re gone.
Learn More About Madeira
What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for friends and family for about 7 years now. Mostly for longer stays, but some check ins sprinkled in. I’ve sat for some special needs and older cats who need medication and special food, so I have experience there. Mostly just love meeting the different personalities!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 4 cats. Junie, Blade, Millie, and George (deaf). Adopted 1 and the rest found their way to us through the cat distribution system. Wouldn’t have it any other way!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My 2 girl cats have this personality. It’s important to give them space and make sure to offer them a calm quiet environment. Do not force play time or attention on them, they will come to you when they are ready.

Madeira is a wonderful, thoughtful caretaker of all animals, especially cats. She watched Shoe and Lace, my two tuxedo cats, many times through the years and it was clear both from the videos she sent me and their behavior when I returned that they were only shown love & great care while I was away! Madeira is experienced in feeding, entertaining, brushing, and administering medication to cats when need be. I truly think Madeira has the sort of personality that makes being a great pet sitter inevitable- she deeply cares for all animals and I think it will be clear from your first conversation with her! I highly recommend Madeira for all cat-sitting needs.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Ocean Grove cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
